paste wax

i have a can of #26 laying around in my house how can i use this wax since it is in paste form?

i was goin to use one of those cheap oribtal buffer. use a spoon and just smear it on the foam bonnet?

Note: #26 is a pure wax and should only be applied to a new, or like new finish. Just in case...
