The bottom of my Passat has a lot of plastic at the base. What (if anything) is used to polish it ....is anything really necessary other than washing? Thanks.

I have an Audi A4, similar situation. The Klasse twins work just fine on the plasitc ,in fact, on all of the exterior trim :up

so u would recommend klasse aio to polish exterior trim i take it? just wanna make sure i fully understand u b/c i always thought it was bad to get polish on trim, especially when using a pc.

Yeah, I thought it could be bad too but I heard the tip here from Accumulator, tried it, looked great, never worry about running and fading dressings :up. Don't use it on rubber weatherstripping ( around doors, trunk, hood) though

If you don't protect the painted bumpers & trim it will fade over time and be much lighter than the rest of your car...black & red seem to be the worst colors.

We've all seen rides where the metal looks bright red & the bumper looks pink...or the car is glossy black & the bumper is gray.

I don't "polish" the black plastic trim on my Passat but I really like using 1Z Tiefenpfleger, it makes it look very dark and satin, not too much shine but enough to make it look nice. It will last through a couple of washings also and I use it on the rubber seals around the windows.

I have had problems with AIO in the past on my Passat lower moldings. AIO streaked like hell and I got white residue stains everywhere. I am not discounting the fact that this may be due to user error but since I use #40 I really don't see the need on going back to AIO.

 Never happend to me when I had to reapply after getting a little latex paint on the lower moldings. All I did was wipe AIO on and off then topped with SG:nixweiss

are we talking about the sideskirts, front chin and rear valance?

I always used B2B.

Or are we talking about the bumpers themselves

Ill haft to give the AIO a spot test :xyxthumbs maybe my Passat will make it out of the shop sometime this month:nixweiss

Try using Vanilla Moose on the lower valences and grills. Best if you apply with a PC. It'll come out looking great.

I use Forever Black Tire Gel .. an application lasts a couple of months at 3/4 washings a week .. easy to apply and is streak free.
