parking garage woes

I am curious if anyone has ever had this problem before. I park my car in an underground garage that is part of a much larger building. Because of this there is fire proofing on the cieling of the garage. ( I think it is just sprayed on or at least that is what it appears to me). Anyways after several months I started to notice that the stuff was flaking off and onto my car. Now it is a light chaulk like substance that falls on my car. Along with a fine dust in other spots. I have been just driving the car and letting most of it blow off. I am now wondering if I am better off getting a Cal. duster and going over the car first?

I have complained more times that I care to get into. The owners had the stuff re-packed over my spot but it made no difference. Now they tell me there is nothing they can or will do. I would go and get another spot but they are very very hard to find where I live. So I am stuck in thsi one for a while. what do you guys think about the Cal duster idea or am I better off letting it blow off naturally. I can't say that I have noticed any scrathes as a result of it just gets on the car and drives me nuts.

The CCD has been one of my standbys for at least 12 years now.

Much as I like them, I think if the dust will blow off, I would keep doing what you are doing now. After the stuff has been blown off, you might try the CCD and see how it goes. You can buy the plastic handle, slightly smaller versions for about $10 at Wal*Mart.

I would definitely just do one area and make sure you are not scratching the paint. The CCD itself isn't a problem, but the stuff you are encountering is a little different than regular dust and dirt.
