Paintless Dent Repair

Does anyone have any experience with this type of dent repair? I received a few dents on my last trip and was wondering if this is something I can buy tools for or if I should leave it for someone with experience? One dent did not even scuff the paint, the other did but I am pretty sure I can rub it out. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dan

Where are you located at? there should be someone in you area that does PDR or maybe located in this forums.

I am in Birmingham, AL. If there is anyone in the area speak up and I will call you.

If repaired properly, you won't see them. It all depends on the dent, where it is, how much the metal stretched, etc. I once backed into a mailbox and other that the scratched paint, the dent was gone. I also dropped a big plastic cooler onto when trying to get it off a shelf in my garage. Not only did it land on my hood, it bounced a couple of times. I had a PDR guy fix the and it looked as good as new. If they can't be fixed or won't be 100%, any decent PDR guy will tell you up front.

If you have a relationship with a car dealer, ask them who they use.

One thing to be really careful about is make sure your PDR guy removes panels instead of drilling access holes. Lots of them just love to use a drill.

I had a guy come and do PDR on my car. He charged $35 bucks a panel regardless of the number of dents. Perfect panels, couldnt tell where the dents were

I'd have a professional PDR guy do it. Now a days, the real Pros use glue sticks instead of drilling access holes in panels. I had a guy take out over a 100 hail dings on the roof of a Lexus and you couldn't see 1 dent when he was done. Totally amazing repair.

PDR is an excellent skill. And it is just that... a skill. You can buy the tools (which are expensive) but it would take you lots of practice to get it done. The guy I use has been doing it for over 30 years and is known as one of the original PDR guys in the country. It's simply amazing work.

Had someone come out and fix my dents today. Did a pretty good job. I do have to rub out the one dent that was repaired but the other looks pretty good. I wish he would have been a little more careful around the paint. I do have a few new scratches but nothing I cannot fix with a little #80 and a pc. I did have to stop him from wiping off with the nice micro fiber that was laying on the ground:shocked . He also wanted to wet sand the fender in one place and I said no way. But it is fixed and looks good.
