What did you do to prep the surface prior to painting?

I think its black plastic or painted black plastic. And i used wet sandpaper on the emblem.

Did you get the overspray off yet?
I would try something really safe first like a WET nylon bug sponge and regular car soap and see if it will scrub off or if its the kind of bumper that takes dressing soak it in dressing for a few hours and then try to scrub it off.
You may need to use a solvent but make sure its a paint safe solvent . I would say goof off but you still need to be very careful with it and try an inconspicuious area first to make sure its not going to do any damage .
Its hard to tell from the picture exactly what kind of bumper it is . Good Luck !

I believe that is a slightly textured black plastic trim, not a painted surface.
