Painting And Polishing ABS Plastic...

Quick question for the painting experts here.



Just got an ABS mesh sport grille and painted the plastic border dark green metallic and clear coat topper today. Came out good.



The questions :



How long till I can polish? [ Is the next day doable? ]



How long till I can glaze?



How long till I can wax?



I thought I read somewhere that plastic accent pieces require way less time to polish than metal fenders, hoods, etc. Did a search and it recommended also not to wet or dry sand a metallic clear coat finish in the painting and polishing process.

I found my answer in the old post " wax applied to new clearcoat " if anyone needs this advise in the future.



How long till I can compound or polish? Next day if you wish.



How long till I can glaze? Next day.



How long till I can wax? Not Before 90 Days !!!!!



You can use a little non carnauba based quick detailer for

shine till 90 wait time is up.



Hope this tip helps others in the future.

Talked to a local paint supply store today.



They said no need to wait full 90 days for a small painted piece of plastic.

They said 30 days should be fine before you wax. Main thing is No silicones before the 30 days.
