Paint Sealants

I think any sealant is great as long as you apply it monthly. You won't have any issues with protection, and durability. :)

In my experience AIO is not great for durability but when topped with KSG it lasts several months. It's been a fairly long time since I used the Klasse twins solely but I would expect at least 3 months or possibly more.

Six layers of KSG will last so long that you'll be redoing the finish due to wash/use-induced marring before the KSG is dead. Three months isn't even the *start* of it with that many layers, but IME it *is* about all you'll get out of two or three.

to answer ur question about wat david said; just because a product is still causing water to bead on the surface, or sheet off does not mean that the protection is still there on the paint.. something like silicates ( just going by what he said) can make water to bead, but has no protective qualities. a wax can still bead after its protection is all gone... but i personally still like to see beading, and so do customers.. thats what a waxed car is supposed to look like afterall right? if a customer saw their car bead for 5 months, they would probably be happy.. but if your product only beaded for like 2 months, and you just told them the protection is still there, dont worry about it. im not so sure how they'd react... just my non professional .02 cents

I have used Wolfgang DGPS 3.0 and really like it. Easy on, let it haze for about 45 minutes, easy off.

Have Poorboys EX-P, it is ok.

Just got Meguiars M20 Poly-sealant. Have only used it on my bike so far.

Have heard the Blackfire is a pretty good one as well

UPGP is damn good but Bilt-Hamber Auto-Balm is the bomb.It will hide cob webbing and is good for at least 6 months of protection.....and the shine that it gives looks like the best nuba you have ever scene.

I'm looking into Opti-Coat, but its hard to get.

Probably because it isn't officially released yet. I got a tube of it (comes in a syringe) but I can't do a 3 year guarantee on its durability until Optimum releases the warranty information on it. Apparently it is harder to write a guarantee and get it past the lawyers than I figured it would be. :nixweiss

Based on the postings on the Optimum forums, it sounded like it was released.

collinite 845 is my go to

Yep, love that stuff.

It smells like an old sweaty boot, but it just does the job.

Locally available (for me) and priced right.

I stocked up on the pre-VOC version and now have enough to last my lifetime, at least.

A little trick I learned is to use it for the smooth exterior rubber trim around windows.

It leaves a nice sheen and keeps the rubber black forever.

(Makes sense since 845 was originally developed to coat power lines).

I personally put it in the sealant category as it's a resin (IIRC) and not a "true wax". Either way, the stuff is very durable.

I got a few of the pre-VOC bottles too, but I can't discern a diff in side-by-side tests :nixweiss Still glad I got 'em though.

Yeah, it's great for that. Zero issues from the petroleum distillates IME.

Same here, and I've heard the "it contains resins" thing somewhere too.

I notice KSG is not that slick as NXT.

Yeah, KSG has a weird plastic-like feel to it, very different from how slick LSPs feel. Fortunately it does seem to shed contamination OK and with enough layers it provides great protection against, well, everything.

UPGP will be my go to summer paint sealant from now on. Maybe year round...

It really meets all my needs.

I just miss dipping into a nice jar of soft nuba' now & then.

I am using UPGP on my wife's glacier blue CR-V, and I'll probably use it year around. It looks good, and it's just so darn easy to apply, which counts a lot on a large vehicle. I do not know if it looks as good as or better than, say, Wet Diamond or NXT or whatever; but it looks good enough for me. Nor do I know what it's durability is, but given how easy it is to apply, I do not mind topping off every 6-8 weeks. I'll just have to wait until winter to see how long it will last on this daily driver. The manufacturer promises three to four months durability, perhaps longer. We shall see.

We've had excellent results with Finish Kare 1000P and also with Collinite (as a winter wax). Using Danase Paint Sealant this summer, looks very good also.
