Paint Protectant?!?!

paint sealants are a numbers scam. Here is the math.



Average cost in So Cal = $400 . Cost for the dealership including labor $50.00. Profit = 350.00. If they sell 100 a month, that is $35,000 profit a month.



Most dealerships get 1 - 2 complaints a year. So, as you can see they make out like bandits. Now you know why the Finance guys who sell the "paint sealant programs, window etching programs, alarms, etc. are the highest paid employees at the dealerships.
 
Went to this particular dealership today and played dumb, making them think I can get fooled by this product and get a sale out of me.



A single coat of the paint sealant plus fabric guard and vinylast is $500. A three stage coating plus the fabric and vinyllast is $1000.

Talk about a rip off. Doubt it would last the three years it's claimed by the dealership. Also saw another white car with fallout that is rusting due to not being removed. Plus we've had a heap of rain lately. NOT GOOD
