Paint pittings

How do you remove pittings from paint?

Very shallow: wetsand and/or compound



More significant: repaint

If it's too deep it's best to live with it than to remove too much paint.

I did tried polishing with P0203S on green pad but it only removed swirls.

Well, it seldom does.



99% of the time I'd expect you'll have to live with it or have the areas repainted. That's what I do.

A looong time ago, in an article in a car magazine (C&D, IIRC) a museum curator in Italy was asked why all the great cars in a collection had chips and so on...why they weren't perfect.



His reply: "real cars have stonechips".



I've always taken that to heart and I just don't let 'em bug me until they get to the "better repaint that" level.
