Paint Job Protection

I just did a minor paint job on my car. It was a primer/basecoat/clearcoat work and came out of a aerosol cans. It looks very good, but I have to wait 30 days before I put wax or sealant on it (according to instructions). Does anybody have experience with protecting a fresh paint job? What type/brand of sealant/wax would be best in that situation?
Reason I am asking is that I saw a thread from Jngbrdman about a factory paint job where the clear lifted off the base and that scared the hell out of me since my paint job is homemade.

You have to remember that the other thread you referenced was damage that occurred over the span of 10 years or so. You should be good with normal washing for the first 30 days. After that point, you could probably resume your normal protection process. If you use a rotary or PC, I'd be cautious in those areas at first, just to see how it reacts to machine polishing.

Yes, I know it was 10 years, but my thinking was - if a FACTORY job does it after 10 years, how much sooner can an AMATEUR job do that if not properly cared for. Thanks for your suggestion - I will do that! :bigups
