Paint correction.

Hello all! I was just wondering how many paint corrections (if you own a detail shop) you do a week? or month?

1 step, 2 step, 3 step. And also how much do you charge for a wash, clay and seal?

thanks for all help!

The bulk of my details are basic (1 DA polishing step) details. Most people just don't look at paint the way we do and just want it shiny and protected. The majority of the corrections I do (4-7 a month on average) are because either the dealer or a body shop hacked the car up so bad the owner can't stand how it looks. The corrections I do for those who want me to chase every last possible defect want it done on their garage queens but usually aren't as picky when it comes to their daily drivers.

There is no standard amount of steps. It takes as many as it takes. I charge by the hour, not the number of steps anyway.

Scott is right, when you say "paint correction" do you mean 50% better? 75% better 95% better 100% better? all are corrections, but not all are the same level or cost.

I have a Stage 1 correction that depending on the car and severity of the paint damage I will typically get about 50%-75% correction, takes about 7 hours inside and out. I charge $350 starting for that.

Then I have a full correction which is 95%-100% correction process that typically takes 13-15 hours, that is per hour of course.

Not sure how many I do per week/month, it varies too much month to month.

ive been averaging about 10 per month all year. May was killer and did 20 (needless to say, I was dead tired every night).

I get a lot of calls for one steps (gloss enhancement packages) where correction isnt the main issue, but shiny is...those are usually in the 5+ hour range with a vacuuming on the inside. Just wash, clay, menzerna 203 and sealant, wheels tires, vacuum, windows

full correction, usually in the 15 hour+ range with longer times if necessary...those are less common

the money in this game is in the volume aspect...the wash and waxes where you can easily get $75 per car and rip through 10 of those a day with one other person, or the one steps where you arent going for full correction, you can get up to 3 in a long day if you can streamline things...like do all the vacuuming at once, then all the claying, then all the wheels, etc...There are not too many people looking to spend $1000 plus on a detail for their Daily driver, weekend toy maybe, but once you do it on a show car, it SHOULD stay that way, so you wont be dong that again on that car...kind of like a "one and done detail"
