Pain v.the good type

audiboy

Hail the power of Quattro
I just got back from the tattoo parlor a little bit ago and I'm feeling a bit of pain, but it's the good type of pain. While I was there I got my three tats touched up and got some other work done. It reminded me very quickly why I don't want another ribcage tat anytime in the near future. My artist did a great job as always. That is all.

Duuuh, I don't think so.
The good type of pain only exists in the minds of those that are telling you that's what you will experience.
Pain hurts.
Hurting is not good.:)

On the subject of tatoo's, have you folks ever thought what it's going to look like in 40 or 50 years with all these 70 year old women rubbing around with a tatoo on their buns? I won't even get into the belly button rings. (And others)

Pain is good. It lets you know you're alive. If you've never had a tattoo, it's really hard to explain how a certain type of pain or painful feeling could become addicting. I really won't care what it looks like in 40-50 years. It looks good now and I have pictures. All the tattoo's that I have or will have will be able to be covered up by a t-shirt and shorts, so I don't see it being a problem at all.

Here are the pictures of when I first got them. The falcon is on the left side of my chest and the lion is on my right ribcage.

So what made you get silouhetes? They look good, nice clean lines.

The falcon is a design that I found and just liked a lot. The lion holds some significant meaning in my life. I've always liked the simplicity of all black silouhetes. They look very clean if done right. My next tattoo will involve a little more detail and shading. If it looks as good as it does in my head right now, it will turn out great. I picked my artist because of his ability to work with large areas of black and because of his clean lines.

They look good, like TD said, "nice and clean." Your artist does quality work. I agree about the good and bad pain. Good pain may hurt, but it makes you feel alive and in a sick way crave more. Bad pain, obviously, hurts! Tats are definitely very addicting. I only have one at the moment but only because I can't afford the other two that I'm waiting to get once I have enough excess money saved up.

On the aspect of what it will look like in 50,60, etc years when all of us get old and our tats are all wrinkled... I think that the fact that we live in a society that as a whole is more accepting of body art than in the past, will make old tattoos simply that, old. Sure they won't look like they did when we were 20, but does anything look at 70 like it did at 20? lol. Seeing another person with an old tattoo isn't as big a shock if we have an old tattoo of our own, it just becomes the norm for us.

I'm trying to think of what I want for my first tattoo, but I can't figure out what I want that I could live with for another 50+ (I hope so anyway:) ) years. I figure it's best to wait it out until I find something I really like. I've been in a couple shops here in town that do great work, found some designs I liked but I want to find something original, something someone else hopefully doesn't have

It's definately good to find the right artist and a design that you want. I have one that I got in haste and I didn't search for a great artist. Luckily, my current artist touched it up and made it look pretty good. I just need to find something to add onto it now, because it looks a little plain and out of place. I'm sure I'll find something sooner or later. A good idea for you is that you could find something you like and have the artist change it around a little bit to make it original. I know a lot of people who do that.

Since this is about pain. Well, this is my kind of pain....

"Come on, girl, now, its you
Sink your teeth right through my bones, baby
Let's see what we can do
Come on and make it hurt

Hurt so good
Come on baby, make it hurt so good
Sometimes love don't feel like it should
You make it hurt so good
"

To each their own, but I think John needs a different woman. :)
