Probably not, but since the manufacturers don't all use the same colors for their pads, it's hard to say.
If you describe the pad by its intended purpose rather than by color, it would help.
While I have 9 pads, they are all either polishing or finishing.
Polishing pad for swirl removers, paint cleaners and polishes, finishing pad for LSP's. Since I only do my own and family vehicles, I have never felt the need for more. That is not the case for many PC users, though.

Hi Jay,
Charles is right, different manufacturers use different colors for the same type of pad, that is why I started a Manufacturers pad color thread, the chart on there shows a number of different manufacturers and what colors they use for the different typw of pad. Going from the most to least aggressive.

I hope this helps you choose the right pad for your job.

Good luck

Thanks for the input guys my pads are lake county .
One question i was using the orange pad for ssr etc i read some one used the white pad ? I thought that one was for polishing rather than defect removal?.
Thanks.

Very good advice PEI. Just to add a few things. The SSRs IMO like polishing pads better than cutting pads with the PC budman3
Keep your cars clean!

Budman3 offered this advice in another thread i placed the thread topic at the top of the page in case your interested in reading it
