Pads wanting to fall off PC!

My pads are wanting to fall off my PC. Seems like they are walking also when I am using it. If I barely touch the pad it will pull off and I am afraid of them falling on ground.

Either the backing plate or the pads have lost their grip. Sometimes if you pull pads on and off again a lot, the loop fibers break and the hooks on the backing plate can not grab hold of them. Sonus pads tend to do this more than Meg's or LC's. Also you can heat up a backing plate to the piont that the hooks have melted and can no longer grab hold of the loop fibers.

They haven't even been used but a few times. One is a Wolfgang, then others are Meguiars and LC's. Maybe it is the backing plate then. I will see if they stick to the backing plate on my Makita.

I have a PC and LC 5.5 pads and had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. THe backing plate wasn't holding on to the velcro on the pads and "walking off" the pad as I was polishing. This was with a Brand New white LC pad, Menz SIP and a 5" backing plate from autogeek used only twice before.

It may have somehting to do with too much polish getting caked on the pad, but it still shouldn't be walking off the backing plate like it did.

Yeah I have to make sure and hold the PC and the pad using 2 hands as not to drop the pad on the ground. Anyone else? Shouldn't be due to the polish either cuz I was using a brand new out of package Woldfgang grey pad and just wax.
