Pads for my PC

Mine are all garbage after moving several times. I had the pads from Griots but I am wanting to order and try somethind different. I was thinking about the Sonus kit. Any suggestions?
 
I've used lake country many times and have had no issues with them. wait.... correction. I've had issues with their backing plates melting, but the pads were a-ok. their contoured shape takes some getting used to though.



I recently bought a full lineup of original propel pads. I got the chance to use them on the rotary yesterday on a test hood that I picked up from a local salvage yard. the rotary took some geting used to, but the pads performed great!
 
I second the Propel pads! Cheap and effective, can't go wrong with Propel. Not to mention Patrick is a great guy to work with!
 
Any of the SFX pads, and the orange Propel.



For everything but applying a glaze I like firm pads with the PC - if you can't apply a little pressure to the pad, you get nowhere fast with the PC. I used to like the Wolfang Concours pads because of thier firmness, but the backing material comes loose too fast. For me, most of the Propel pads are even a little too soft...except the orange pad which is awesome for heavy polishing or compounding. Lately I have had great success with all of the Sonus SFX pads - they are quite firm and thick so you can apply extra pressure when needed.



The Meguiars Yellow polishing pad is also very good, though not quite as firm as I personally like.



I also have used the LC VC pads extensively (I have about 40 of them), but on a PC I prefer a flat pad...equals more pad-to-surface contact. But they will get the job done and last a long time.
 
Over the long term, with proper care, does any brand seem to stand out? I have used the pads I had extensively a little over a year and they were pretty worn. What finished my favorite pad off was my ignorance and impatience! I decided to spin dry it and cranked er up a little too high being in a hurry. Well lemme tell ya, if you have never taken a damp pad and cranked the PC up too high while not on a surface lemme tell you.....you are missing out! I never did find the other half of that pad I swear! I looked all over the garage and out in the yard, the other piece must have flown 50 yards onto the neighbor's roof or into the bushes somewhere because I swear I couldnt find it! I know that probly opened the door for idiot comments!

I haven't had any of my Propel pads go out on me yet. It's been a year and a half I think since I bought my first set.
