I have a 3M 5" backing plate, and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on a 6" pad. I use the polisher for everything... compounding, polishing, and waxing. I am just trying to figure out the best brand for durability, and finish. Thanks in advance for any input.

I like a 4" pad for DA polishing. It's easier to move around curves and complex corners, also seems to keep more product on the paint and give a little better cut. 6" pads are great for applying product like wax though.

I wasnt aware that you could get a 4" pad for a PC... Ill have to try that! I am always having issues with the 6" pad being just a bit too big, so that might be a very good option for me to look into...thanks!!!

So, I went to autogeek, and ordered all new stuff... 3.5", and 5.5" backing plates.... and 6 ccs pads for each. Hopefully they work well, everything Ive seen makes them sound pretty good!

DetailKnight- Besides the LC pads and the 4" ones that Meguiar's now offers, you might check out the offerings at Cyclo Toolmakers . As Liquid_Table said, the little 4" pads are much better for correction via PC.

I used one of those one time, and it felt very awkward to me... even though it did do an awesome job!! Just cant bring myself to use something that doesnt feel comfortable.

Huh, see how everybody's different?!? I find it sooo much more user-friendly than any of my other polishers :nixweiss

But you might want to check out their pads anyhow, I think the wool ones are made by the Edge folks and I really do like their foam ones too (well, not so much the yellow ones).
