Pad cleaners

I've been using snappy clean pad cleaning powder which does a really good job most of the time. The only thing I have issues with is oily sealants or some AIO products. For example, some sealants really never come out of the pad. With that in mind, I'm curious what you all use for pad cleaning. Any tricks to the oily sealants or AIO products, or is snappy clean about as good as it gets?

I have used Pinnacle XMT and CG to good effect. However, AIOs and LSPs generally turn pads into dedicated ones.

I have simply been using an APC mixture. For stuff like BFWD is now is a dedicated pad for that purpose. Unfortunatly I have never been able to fully remove the oily product like that.

I use Megs super degreaser. Does a great job of cleaning the pads, no matter how old and crusty, it rinsed very well, and its flippin' cheap! For some sealants (BFWD and Menz PL specifically) I use a dedicated pad, as these sealants won't get washed out no matter what, it seems.

I am with Troy. For Menzerna PL and BFWD I just use dedicated pads. It is so hard to get that product out of the pad. I just use regular APC for cleaning all my other pads.

Another vote for Snappy but I've also found Detailer’s Pro Series Polishing Pad Rejuvenator to perform equally as good.

For oily products I've sprayed Meguiar's Super Degreaser, Klean Strip Prep-All, or mineral spirits on the pad. These do a great job at cutting and dissolving any remaining contaminates making them easy to wash off with either of the two products listed above.

I use Detailer's Pro Series Polishing Pad Rejuvenator and have had great success with it. But as you have mentioned it does not clean the Sealant off the pads good, but it works really well on everything else.

I make AIO and sealant pads dedicated but I use DP Pad Rejuvenator and it works well. Sometimes I spray with APC and let it soak for a while.

I have used Pinnacle XMT

I really like the XMT Pad Cleaner. Used it on some pads I had dried on product and it cleaned it. It smells and tastes a little strong ;) BUt with some warm water a brush and this cleaner I get my pads perfect, including my BFWD Black pads.

Yes BFWD is difficult to remove from polishing pads. The polymers can link to the foam and then you have a battle on your hands.

That's not a battle... it's nuclear war.

I usually soak pads in Snappy or APC (LA Awesome from the $ store is dirt cheap for that purpose) then finish with Dawn. Straight IPA can do a decent job on some of those LSP or AIO pads. (Also very effective at finding tiny cuts on your hands.:()

Haven't tried it but using a pie pan and soaking them in mineral spirits(paint thinner) is supposed to work.
