PA High Gloss as Drying Aid

Review: PA High Gloss as Drying Aid -

I know what you`re thinking, "Another Polish Angel High Gloss Review?" But really, can you blame me? Seriously with all of the commotion going on about this product I knew I had to try it out for myself BUT I had to do something to make my review a bit different. After seeing that nobody on the Autopia Forum had used this product as a drying aid the destiny of my bottle of High Gloss was sealed.

Opening the bottle to check out the consistency, the High-Gloss is thicker than most detail sprays - give it a good shake and it`s ready to go. I believe it has been mentioned before but it has a faint grape scent mixed with light chemical smell.

Luckily (or unlucky?) for me I had not one but two dirty Mazdas at home that desperately needed some lovin`. The Mazdaspeed was the first to get the treatment after giving it a standard was with a Foam Gun. I skipped taking photos of this step as I assume everyone here knows how to do that by now. After the wash I left the paint wet and put the High Gloss to work. The Sprayer that comes with the bottle is easy to modulate and should be adjusted to deliver an atomized mist of product onto the paint. Once I got the sprayer set I used 2-3 sprayers per panel (Although I now feel like this may have been too much) and proceeded to dry the car with plush microfiber.

The High Gloss worked great as a drying aid but more importantly added an insane amount of gloss to the previously dull paint. I`ll let the pictures speak for themselves:

After the Mazdaspeed was taken care of I got to work on the Mazda3. Shoutout to Ray@autopia for the recommendation on the Boars Hair Brush - I picked one up before this weekend and have nothing but good things to say about it. I took a swirl light to the paint before/after using the brush on this soft Mazda paint and did not see any damage to the paint. As the Boars Hair gets extremely soft once it has soaked for about 10-15 minutes I did have to take a Microchenile Mitt to the front of the car to get off bugs off, but that is a small trade-off for the amount of time it saved me on the rest of the paint.

I used the High Gloss the same way here, although this time I adjusted the amount of product and only used 1 Spray per panel, which actually seemed to work out better than the 2-3 I did on the Mazdaspeed.
The sun was hiding behind the clouds but I was still able to get some great reflection shots:

nice review

I used it as a drying aid on parts of my truck, just didn`t review it....

I really like this stuff!

The moral of this story is to never leave your bottles of Polish Angel products unattended on your desk at work.

Omg another PA product to add to my collection

I just detailed my car with Escalate lotion and Master Sealant. I pulled my car out the garage for the first time today after detailing it and had to sit there and stare for a few minutes. . .

Definitely want to give PA High gloss a shot.

Good news to hear when used as a Drying aid. Results look great!

Thanks! It definitely did come out spectacular :PolishAngel:

waiting for Paul to review the gold zircon as drying aid now
Don`t give me any ideas! Now that you mention it, the Miata does have gold flake in the paint...

I say give it a go, I went in with sky-high expectations and was not let down :bigups

With all the reviews including a boars hair brush lately I think I may have to get one now

Paul in each application, how much product did you use?
The stuff is not cheap, so I am trying to gauge how many `drying aid` applications are in a bottle, and how long each one lasts.

Not Paul but he brought the bottle back today, its sitting on his desk. We can measure the difference tomorrow
