P21S wax on dark paint....

Here is a nice reflection shot on my black BMW using P21S as a topper over AIO.

Wipe it on, starts hazing, wipe it off...
Actually, you aren't even supposed to wait till it hazes or it may become hard to remove. Wipe on, then wipe off immediately.

I wait till it just starts hazing and wipe it off with ease, I don't let it fully haze or dry, working small sections at a time. The whole car takes maybe 15 minutes and I'm slow.:p

I didn't want to say it'll outlast Zymol Carbon...:D

Alright I just read for about the past hour about all different wax threads and such.

Here is the jist of what I have found....

- P21s is great for easy application, shine, durability, etc. S100 is said to be the same thing, but no one can be 100% sure that is, since some guy didn't taste the two waxes like he said he would. :)

- Everyone hates on Zymol cause it's rather expensive and supposedly doesn't last very long (I haven't noticed that though), but they agree it has an amazing shine and finish. Only drawback is that it's fairly difficult to remove - that I'll agree with.

- People don't like blitz anymore cause it gets chalky and stains the moldings.

I don't know much about polymers nor do I want to, as I'm sticking to carnuabas. :)

Just thought I'd share, maybe it'll help you out, PiL. :up

Don’t forget that P21S/S100 was rated as the top carnauba wax in the independent guru test. You should also be able to find more information on some of the test results by doing a search or find the link and order the guru test results.

What about the 3M Show Car Paste Wax?

AMP, that reflection is amazing. :up

I can vouch for P21S's durability. For a carnauba wax that is so easy to apply and remove, the level of durability you get is quite remarkable. I was able to get a good two months from this product on a black daily driver....which is definitely longer than what I got with 3M's wax.

I know this is a moron question, but hey I'm new. Just to confirm, AIO = Klasse "All in One"? So the steps would be:

1) Wash car w/dawn dish soap

2) Apply Klasse "All in One"

3) Top w/P21S

Is this correct?

Thanks!

Hi AMP99,

Lucky those were not coconut trees...hehehe

Nice clear reflections! Great job! :xyxthumbs You gotta love P21S/S100...:bow

Yes, AIO = Klasse All-In-One

Your steps look fine...except doing your initial wash with Dawn is not necessary. Any good quality auto shampoo will do.

Also, have you assessed whether or not your car needs to be clayed?

It's a fairly new car, just got it in August. I assumed that it wouldn't need it. How do I determine that? And if the paint dose need to be cleaned a bit, isn't that what AIO is for? Thanks for the heads-up.

The best way to determine if your car needs to be clayed is by running your fingers across various portions of the paint after washing your car. If it doesn't feel as smooth as glass or if you feel any grittiness or roughness, then it needs to be clayed. You can enhance the sensitivity of your fingers' by feeling your paint through a sandwich bag. Even many new cars need to be clayed as part of their first detail.

Have you seen this link?

Using a claybar to Remove Contamination

AIO and other polishes do not replace what claybars can do for your car. AIO is used to bring out the shine in your car by removing very faint swirls, deep cleaning your car and adding a thin layer of acrylic sealant. AIO will not remove contaminants that have become embedded in your paint....a claybar is the easiest and most effective tool for this.
