P21S Cockpit Cleaner!

Yes that's right, I'm going to post my thoughts on a product SO NEW you can't even buy it! I know what you're thinking, this guy must be really well connected with insider information and be really important! Not so fast my friends, I just happened to be at DetailFest, and they were giving them out as samples. So while I continue to be really important in my own head, not so much in the real world. But I wish to nominate the new acronym for it to be added tot he secret decoder ring. P21s Cockpit Cleaner - PCOK (pronounced peacock)

In any case, the sample size I got came in a small cylindrical spray bottle. Think of the little bottles of sunglasses cleaner and you've got the right idea. I don't know if its just mine, if it's just the pre-production style, or if its normal, but my sprayer nozzles was a POS. It took me quite some time to get it to work. Basically it required me to sort of follow through with the pressing of the sprayer button and shake the bottle. Minor inconvenience aside, I actually really like the small size of the bottle, it's perfect for stuffing in your center console or glovebox and busting out to clean when you're bored or in traffic. What, you don't keep a MF towel and interior cleaner in your car at all times? Well neither do I... :spot

As far as the product goes, it doesn't seem like anything really new. I tried it on a few different surfaces. On Vinyl it leaves a nice matte look, but a little does not really go as long as you'd expect it to. The product is a bit more liquidy than other similar interior cleaners. Overall on Vinyl I'd say it's like a worse performing, but likely more expensive product similar to Meguiar's Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant.

This product really shines on rubber though. As average as it is on vinyl, it is that good on rubber. It leaves a nice natural matte look on the rubber, and it actually cleans the rubber very effectively. Being on a spray bottle makes it rather a pain to use on rubber, but it looks fantastic when you do. It took out some white marks on my rubber gaskets that I figured were gonna be permanent-ish. If it would condition the rubber and re-hydrate it or whatever to make it swell back up like it was brand new, it'd be even better.

I can't comment on price or value, as I have no idea what that would be. But as it stands, I'm not sure I would buy this product, it really only shines on rubber, but there are other products that specialize in rubber that I'm sure work better. On Vinyl, it just doesn't work as well as other commonly available stuff.

If anyone else got samples, I'd love to hear what you guys think of it. Maybe I'm totally off-base and a moron, who knows?

Excellent Post.... I enjoyed the clever wit.

I don't think I'd be interested in PCOK though. I love my Aerospace 303 for matte finishes and protection. And when I want a little more gloss, I use my homemade combination of Meguiar's Quick Interior Detailer and Z16 Tire Gloss.

Good Write up though,

You can bet it won't stop me from at least giving a small bottle a try,
