Been detailing for a while but have a big problem...

I have a thousands of yellow/orange dots COVERING my entire car except for the hood that was just painted. I had them buffed of once, they returned. I used a clay bar to remove them, but after a week they are BACK!

i have no idea what is going on here.

1992 acura legend w/ a competition white paint job. (someone told me it is a chevolet alpine white/ competition white)

I would suggest trying out a paint cleaner. Something like Poorboys Professional Polish or Klasse AIO (All In One). Its just a guess but those might help you out.

Make sure do wax after them to help prevent these spots from comming. So you dont know where they are comming from then?

i used california gold, then a whole coating of meguiars scratch X fallowed by a coats of mothers canuba cleaning WAX. she's still beading up too

Do you live anywhere near any kind of train traffic? Do you park near some kind of manufacturing facility? It almost sounds like metal particles in the paint?

You need to find the source thats causing these dots to keep coming back. I can't imagine your fall out is so bad that it covers your car continually ,even after claying. Do you park under a tree, or by a paint plant ? It might be time to invest in a car cover. I would dread the thought of claying my car every week.

I did a car this weekend that was near the San Diego Airport. As I was doing the car, orange and brown dots would appear on the car. I tried to clean it off while it was still wet, and it left stains on my finger nails. It was pretty disgusting. The owner said she would get huge lines of the stuff on her car at night.

I don't know where you live exactly, but SoCal in general has lots of pollution, which causes those spots to appear pretty frequently. One more reason to keep your car clean and protected.

i do park on the street with quite some traffic. But my newly painted hood doesnt have a single orange/yellow dot on it...
car cover is probably a good investment

is this poorboys professional polish or klasse AIO serious stuff? or just like waxing

PPP and AIO are both Chemical Cleaners. You would use one of those and then follow up with a wax. They are sort of like a cleaner wax... just without any wax, and a whole lot of cleaners. lol. There are no abrasives in them.

It all depends on what your paint needs, and these might help to remove those spots.

Those are rust spots....the only way to stop them from coming back again is to decontaminate the paint completely and clean it often.

www.fk1usa.com sells a 3-step decontamination kit.
