Hey I dont post here much at all but I read alot on what ppl say.. I have a few questions for Shop Owners...

1)What products do you use? and where do you get it from?
I use mostly eagle one, Auto magic, Stoner , Meg.
Tools-- dewalt buff, Mytee hp60, craftsman Vac, 20 gal air compressor.
I buy from DSI, and Sparkleauto.com
2) How much do you pay your workers, and do you pay them by the hour or by the job.

I pay by the job/car

3) What have you found to be your best advertising?
Word of mouth for me, havent tryd anything else...
Phone book

4)do you have pics of your shop?
I will post some up soon.

5) Who is your shop insurance company?

Thanks for your time!!!

I'm curious as to how much you pay your employees per car/job? Do you find that they like this type of compensation, or would they rather be paid by the hour?

I only have one guy working for me and befor he came to work for me he was getin payed 8.50 an hour detailing audi's, Evos's, Vw's (higher end cars) I asked him to work for me and He ask how much id pay him i brought up paying by the car.. and he was fine with it. I wasnt sure how busy id be so i didnt want to pay him by the hour and let him sit around...

We offer a detailing for a used car lot that sends about 40+/- cars a month.
This is what I charge the lot.
Starts at 60.00 with out a buff.
40 Extra for buff
20 Extra for under coat wheel wells
5-10 Extra for paint wipers
5-10 Extra for removal of stickers
10+ Extra for removal of tar
10+ polish wheels and chrome
I also do a 20 point Check list On cars 95 and new with less than 110,000 miles. I charge 20.00 to do that.

I pay my workers 30 for the detail plus half of all extras.
I think I pay him well if you figure he can do up to 3 a day..I may start paying him by the hour and start at 9.00 an hour...

Any comments? or other questions.
