Overdue Accord

I hate when life gets so busy I have to disregard the appearance of my vehicles. So i took some free time at home to put some springtime love into my old faithful accord. Bear in mind this is a daily driver so I just wanted some decent protection between washes. The dacp left very little visible hazing or marring so i just stopped there instead of following up with #80.

Process:

Protec (qew wannabe) wash

DACP via PC using a yellow propel pad

AIO via PC using a green propel pad

SG by hand WOWO

#16 topper by hand

PB trim restore on faded trim

Megs hot shine on tires buffed on using a sponge

Lookin good. The paint has a nice glow to it now.

How did you like the Pro-Tec vs. QEW? Any chance for sunny next day shots :)?

She looks great. What did you have on the paint before? I ask because, in your before shots, your sled has "lines" of road junk on the hood. Yours is only the second car I've seen (mine is the first) that gets those lines.

I'm assuming it's due to high levels of protection and the travel trash "beading" up the hood:nixweiss

I have all kinds of cars that have those same lines. It's from where dirt travels up the hood in water and the water dries leaving the dirt there. Happends on all of my cars, as well as many of my customers.

Thanks for the comments guys...

Its a beefed up version cleaning wise...but it doesnt leave the same finish...all in all its the same product less the slickness of qew

.....is that a projector retrofit i see on those headlights?

..sure is....three years goin strong...i hacked up an old set of headlights and put in two new audi d2s projectors. works very nice...i bent the cutoff shield a lil more for a very nice purple blue glow when viewed at eye level.

I had put about 4 coats of #16 about 4 months ago...they were still beading strong but the slickness was nil. Yes...those lines of crap only started showing up after my layers of wax had been added. its very annoying cause even after a rain the hood looks retarded while the rest of the car has sheeted all the water and looks basically clean.

im surprised noone said anything about my superhuge wheel gap...it makes me cringe every time i walk out to my car.

Lol, my 03 civic is at stock hieght with 17's on it. I have springs/shocks/and camber kit but I just can't bring myself to put them on because I don't know what the ride will be like and I like a nice riding car.

I prolly will just sell it all. Since it's a civic and not a race car, it's already equipped with brakes so I don't really need to lower it for it to 'handle' better.

Slam that baby with some Tein Flex coil over :up Or up those rim to 17" or maybe 18" Volks TE-37 ;)

Nice job well done!

WILD! Mine is the worst when I used #16 this winter. I went through last winter in an EX phase and the road salt never left this pattern. It must be a 16 thang...

What's with the superhuge wheel gap? J/K. Is it due to the load of stuff in the trunk?
