Nice and Cool
So a friend of mine gets a "new to him" White F150. He now realizes his new truck is a bit larger and longer than his previously owned vehicle....This is what happens when you cut it a little close at the gas pump.

My mission for this weekend is to remove the yellow..He isn't concerened about the dents. I was going to start with a good rubbing compound, then on to my normal paint (polish, wax, seal). Any recommendations??
 
Chemical based polish or compound will take that off with some elbow grease...personally for quick jobs like these I use lacquer thinner on a rag....takes the paint off in seconds....I do this at the wash stage, once I get the paint off, I then wash the area......the LT will dull the clear just a bit, but will polish out no big deal...I then follow the same routine that you do

As for the dents he is going to need a pro for that....once you get the paint off and shined back up...those will not be as noticeable

This is what I would do as well. As for using clay, I suppose it would work but that would be a lot more work than necessary. It was designed to remove paint overspray not transferred paint like this.
 
A little bit of polish, a cotton towel , and elbow grease will take that right out..I wouldn't use your foam pads around that as it might rip them apart if the get caught on any rough edges. :)
 
My experience with paint transfer is it will usually come off with less. I had a really bad one a couple of weeks ago and got it all with PB PwS. So I'd say start with less aggressive than the compound and move up.

That is what I was talking about....based on what I am seeing...the polish will take it off with some real elbow grease....I tend to like and get this off faster and the lacquer thinner that I suggested is what I would use then the PP....I know a lot here would cringe at the thoughts of using LT on paint...but as I suggested at the wash stage...you wipe the area...paint comes off or reduces down to almost nothing...then wash...and hit that would the PB..PP and its a done deal finish comes right back
 
My plan then....LT with lots of soap to follow, PPolish on that area, (SSR2 and SSR1 for the rest of the truck, Wolfgang Sealant, Nattys Blue (thats all I have). Sound like it will work??
