Other uses for PC?

I picked up my PC at Lowes < 100.00 and the Sonus DA Kit from Autopia

is "in the mail".

What else can I use the PC for beside detailing my autos?

What other type of pads are available?

Enquiring minds want to know...

The shampoo brush is great, ever since I switched to a Cyclo for paint, I havent taken it off my PC. And I still use the PC on every detail. Its so much easier than brushing out the carpet by hand, and IMHO the results are better.

You can also get a really stiff brush for cleaning trim, pickup bedliners, etc.

exactly! that was one of the first things i've tried my PC on. well, it was to strip paint that was flaking off. but then i thought "this is going to be going on my car......" 'nuff said. :D

The PC is a very fine piece of woodworking equipment. While I have never used mine as such (I'm not in to wood), others have said it leaves an exceptional smooth sanded finish.

Tom's right. But you will need the PC sanding pad first. It's foam with a part that you stick on the sanding discs. No scratch marks.:xyxthumbs

Well I tried to clean up one of my green plastic patio chairs today.

I first washed the chair with murphys oil soap.

I then manually applied some megs gold cleaner/wax.

It did not do much...

I then broke out the PC and the orange sonus pad and

set the speed to 6 and mashed...this helped a good bit but

I think I will need something with a bit more cutting power

to get all of the old oxidized plastic stripped off.

Any suggestions?

I use mine on wood all the time. As soon as Im done, I blow it out with the air compressor, and wipe down the outside. If you clean it after every use, its not really a problem, at least in my experience.

Im intrigued with the carpet brush though...does it throw your mats around when cleaning them outside the car? How stiff is the bristles?

Anyone ever try to buff out scratches on a marble bathroom countertop with a PC and product? I would like to try, but if it didn't work well I would have a very hard time explaining that to my wife from the couch.

Well, I have used my PC to cleanup some old plastic "lawn chairs". I used Turtle rubbing compound

to take off the oxidized plastic and finished with some maquires wax. It works pretty good but I think

it would work better with four inch pads :)

I also have used the PC to buff off the wax in the entry way to our home ( 10 inch long boards in

a herringbone pattern).

I used microfiber bonnets to do the buffing, the residue builds up fast and limits the effectiveness.

I used mine with SSR3 on a lacquered table that we had sanded with 400 grit. One of the nice things about doing work like that with the PC is that you can control the gloss of the table - 400grit/SSR3 for a matte finish, or 2000/SSR3/SSR1 for a mirror finish.
