Ready for a track day! If you want to go flex your might against any and all new comers bring out this thing! The story behind the "TA" is that the new Viper was beat by the out going ZR-1. So Dodge set out with a single goal when making this car.... KILL THE CORVETTE! And they succeeded with some tasteful mods and weight reduction! For a car of this stature you expect it to be awesome in every way and it almost was. The paint had some major issues, and this was not typical Dodge paint. It was painted by sub contractors for the TA and sanded flat! When it arrived the flat paint made me very nervous, assuming most places that will sand paint that flat do not know how to correct the after math.... And I was right!
arrival
Paint looked lifeless and hammered with sanding marks and buffer swirls
ISSUES!!!
After washing and deconing the paint it was really obvious!
Right before I was going to start polishing a ZR-1 showed up so we took them out for a quick drag race to settle the dispute of which on is faster! J/K but made for a great photo opt!
Here's a test spot I did as you can see by the 50/50 with my compounding step I was able to remove the buffer swirls, but what my iphone is not showing you is the DEEP sanding marks that are still there.
Front bumper 600 miles in already taking a beating, we Did an Xpel wrap later to protect this!
Ta Da! 2 compounding steps/1 polishing step later!
I pretty much had my combo I was going to use nailed down at this point so I got to it!
I take any chance I can to lay down on the job!
My sister stopped by with her put and he took the chance for a photo opt!
Tragically the next day I had to drive the car across town and put it on special lift because it was to low to go on mine for a full wheels off suspension coating. I hate when customers want me to drive their over the top awesome sports cars.
Cleaned and coated!
Ok getting out of the Viper takes some getting use to... As you can see I was snake bit! Luckily I was the venom did not make it to my heart and I'm going to live!
Ok back to the shop for a jeweling step then 2 thick layers of Opti Coat Pro on the paint!
New Flex lights doing work!
And done!!
