Order of Products: AIO --> Polishing

The Man With The Plan
Hello Everyone,

I'm getting ready to do my first BIG DETAIL. My Envoy had the "paint protection package" put on by the dealer 19 months ago. Now, it is still beading water well, looks nice and shiny, and is swirled with some microscratches. I am ready to strip it off and reseal the vehicle.

I have the following products at my disposal: AIO, Poorboys PwC, SSR1, SSR2, EX-P. I want to strip off the sealant from the dealer, so I think AIO is needed. I would use the PwC, but I don't want any wax on the car, just sealant.

I do not know the proper order for these products. I'm thinking of doing:

Wash-Clay-SSR2-SSR1-AIO-EX-P.

Does that look right? Or should I use AIO before polishing with SSR to help strip off the "paint protection"?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Fleet

I have always felt that the cleaning abilities of AIO would remove whatever you put on first. I would AIO then SSR1-SSR2 and then EX-P

Well looks like we're back to the debate of fix(SSR2/SSR1), clean (AIO), seal vs. clean/fix/seal.

Personally I prefer your original order, e.g. SSR2 + SSR1 + AIO + EX-P. I think you would retain more of AIO's protective qualities. Although EX-P shouldn't have "bonding" issues with either sequence.

I guess my concern is whether I should use AIO "up front" to try and strip off the "paint protection" already on the Envoy or should I use it for its cleaning after the polishing?

This "paint protection" is smeared on pretty good. It was baked on in a heat oven (I watched).

Use AIO first, then the order you are going to follow. But I would think AIO when strip alot of your previous product if you applied it towards the end.
