Order in which to use products

Hi So I just bought my PC this week .....Started buying my products today



Heres what and how I plan to do it!! can some1 tell me if i'm doing the step right ?



obviously start by

washing the car

Clay bar(mothers gold clay)

Wash

Polish with #82(white pad PC at 5k opm) then work my way up to

#80 if i still have swirl(yellow pad at 5200 opm)

if I still have problem #83(with a yellow pad 5200 opm)



After that put some #7 with a white pad 5200 opm



Now my question is...PPL are saying not to put the GOLD class wax over the #7 ??

thats what I have right now so which LSP should I PUT?



Also how many layer of glaze should I put ?



I have a 02 toyota celica with some pretty bad swirl!! I'll take picture this weekend and I plan on doing my car during the next week. Also I read that meguiar's wouldnt be the best at polishing ?? should I try to buy the menzerna product and if so which one ?

I saw the chart for the products but the menzerna products are not on there yet.



I'm still so confuse about which products would work best for me !!!I wanna get rid of the swirls and really get a HIGH GLOSS wet look!!! HELP me please
 
You have the jist of the polishing right. Start with the least abbrasive method (in your case, #82) and work your way up in terms of aggresivness if your not getting the results you want.



What brand pads are you using? If thay are LC pads, then I would absolutley say do NOT use the yellow pads with #80 or #83 because you will get heavy marring that you may not be able to remove. If you are using Meguiars' pads, thier yellow pad has much less cut and works great with both #80 and #83.



I would personally apply and remove #7 by hand, as it is thick in oils, and I have had bad luck with it gumming up on a pc. If you are going to use a pc, knock the speed down to about 3000 opc.



You can apply more then one coat of #7, but you likely will not see any benefit (other then making sure you didn't miss a stop the first time). #7 should NEVER be left to try, and should be wiped cleaned when its still very wet.



Gold Class is okay, it just doesn't last very long at all. It features a ton of oils in it (which is why it would be redundent to apply on top of #7) and gives a fairly decent look, but in terms of durabilty, there is none.



If you want to stick with Meg's and want something that looks awesome on top of #7, try #26.



Also, consider this when you are buffing, #80 has the same oils as #7, so if you finish your polishing with #80, there is no need to really follow up with #7. That is why a lot of Meg's users finish with #80 before going to thier LSP. #82 also gives a nice, clean look, but has different oils and doesn't finish as wet looking as #80.

SO i guess i could ditch #7 from what you're saying and also which LSP would u recommend ?



which glaze give the best wet shiny look in you guys opinion ?
 
Don't wash after claying. It's a waste of a step and will save you 45 mins to an hour... Your polishing steps will remove any clay residue left.



Just make sure to use a generous amount of clay lubricant and let the clay "GLIDE" across the paint. Let the clay do what it's make to do. Don't use mush if ANY pressure. If you do, you may get micromarring. So be careful especially on vertical panels.
 
thanks . I have another concern after reading the forum and some thread I saw some ppl advising to use #80 after the polishing kind of like a glaze!! just before the LSP. Is this right???



also which LSP would work best with the meguiar's product??
 
any one about aplying #80 as a filler ?

Am I supposed to use #80 as the finest polisher to remove swirl......or am I suppose to use it at the end b4 the LSP as a glaze/filler ?
