Orange pad destruction

is it normal for an orange pad to pretty much desentegrate through 1.5 cars? i just had my backing plate chew through the edges of the pad ( 5" backing plate with the velcro on the pad being 5" too.)



just wondering if this is normal

there was a thread about that, the backing plate chewing up the pads, and they showed a simple workaround too
