Orange or Yellow pad more cutting

I've found the yellow to be more aggresive and have more cut. The orange is some where between the yellow and white.

That site is very confusing because they don't have the yellow and orange pads in the correct order, and then they show a flat orange pad but in the description its saying that it's a variable contact pad. Hmmm, someone needs to update their site a little bit. Anyway, yellow is definitely more aggressive then orange. The yellow feels VERY coarse whereas the orange is quite stiff but not coarse.

I have yet to find the orange pad's value. If I want less cut than a true cutting pad, I can always use an equally abrasive product on a polishing pad and any time I've needed more cut than a polishing pad, the orange hasn't had enough. FWIW

True, but in some cases I don't have any polish "in between" enough, and using the orange pad lets me get enough cutting action while still leaving a finer finish because of the gentler product I used.

I'm not sure if I'd recommend it to be standard kit in a detailer's toolbox, but it has its uses once in a while.
