Optiseal and insects?

Hello, I recently bought a bottle of Opti-Seal. The weather finally shaped up and allowed me to wash my car finally. Anywho After I washed, dried, and QD my car, I was ready to apply the Opti-seal. While I was applying the Optiseal, I noticed a lot of insects, especially Bees! started hanging around me. One even tried to bite me, but I didn't "bug" the bee and it just flew away from me, but continued to hang around.

My question is this, has any of you noticed that the OptiSeal attract bugs, could it be the mild semi sweet smell it emits? Not really a complaint, but just curiosity. I did btw enjoy the results afterward, jaw dropping!

I dont have a garage, just a carport.

Much Thanks.

i have never used opti seal. but i have used several other products that seem to attract insects. and it generally is the pleasant sweet smelling ones, apparently its pleasant to insects too.

I'd suspect it was the QD that attracted them, not Opti-Seal. Eagle 20/20 glass cleaner attracts wasps, guess how I found that out?

As far as honeybees are concerned, in warmer climates (not here), they are beginning to go out and do their pollinating thing, which is the whole purpose of having them around. A lot of the things we eat depend on that pollination.

Hornets and wasps? Nah, no time for them. If you gotta get rid of some of them, do it after dusk, when they are all back in the nest, like Scottwax said.

I have a customer with a Lexus IS350 that I use PS, OS, OCW on regularly and he is always telling me that he has a ton of bugs hanging out on his car for the first 2-3 weeks after I've done his car. He said they are just hanging out clinging to the car. Must be something in the chemistry mimicking an important scent to bugs.

I have a yellow car and use fruity smelling wax / polish. This combination attracts bees, flys, and mosquitos. I suspect the vehicle appears to be a huge flower to these insects. Do not try to hit the bees to prevent insect bites.

I've noticed the little sweat bees were attracted to my car. I can't say for sure if it was opti-seal since it had been a few months after application. I only noticed them for 2 weeks in the fall when about 6 were constantly hovering around my car.
