Optimum vs. Menzerna Polishes

I'm glad I asked. There seem to be varying opinions -- I would like to get additional feedback on this. Thanks for your help!

My sister is visiting from the UK and brought me a 1 liter bottle of po85rd from the great guys at http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk. I really can't wait to try this thing out after all the stuff I have read on this thread and others :D Now maybe I can find some RMG to do a little mixing hee hee ;)

MENZERNA RULES! I have the Optimum and Menzerna Polishes. The Optimum line is collecting dust down in the basement. Although I will give some of the Optimum poilshes a few more chances in the next upcoming details, I keep going back to Menzerna!

*I* recommend NOT mixing them. The look is pure and beautiful and you might even find that you don't want to put anything over it.:D

As far as menzerna on single stage paints, here is the latest I did with Menzerna and black single stage.... http://autopia.org/forum/click-brag/85972-detailed-94-supra-tt-black.html

The Supra looks unbelievable. I don't know if it makes much difference on the choice, but the full sequence planned is:

clay

IP

FPII

Z-AIO

Z5 Pro

Z3 Pro (w/ZFX)

Z-CS

Z8

I have already purchased the IP and FPII, but will switch to Megs if that's the way to go. Jury seems split and that Supra looks amazing.

I'm sure the above process wil make your car look great, but wow, what a chore!

I 'really' think a simple clearkote compound/glaze/wax or meg's 83/80/wax will look as good, if not better, and be WAY less expensive. Again, I'd skip the Zaino or any sealant on a ss black car.

Go to danase.com and buy the below kit. PM me if you want for a nice discount code. Option it out with the RM because it costs more, and then buy the VM separately. Just my opinion.

ClearKote Paint Care Package

Thanks for the feedback. I don't know if it makes any difference, by the SS paint is red rather than black. I am not even slightly concerned the time or effort required because I will do the extensive prep work only once for one car and this type of work is a hobby for me that I find relaxing -- it would be anything but relaxing if I planned to do a series of cars with this regimen. So time/effort is not a concern, but I do want to ensure that I get the best results from the process. I saw a red SS paint car at show once done with Zaino and it blew me away, which is why I elected to go that route. I've already purchased all the Menzerna/Zaino product mentioned in preparation for this, but I will change products if something is just wrong. Thanks again.

LOL I bet you would! :) I keep them around just incase I run out of my Menzerna poslishes and forget to re-order. The biggest turn off I had/have with OPT is that I ordered the three polishes last year and the OP was clumpy as hell. I believe there a bunch of people with the same problem and you could send it back for a new bottle. Problem is im too busy to ship it back to be honest. A few months after I received my order they come out with the "new formulated" OPT polishes. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Not a big deal...I still have my Menzerna! The only benefit I see is that the OPT polishes dusts less then the Menzerna.

that sucks about the clumping. i would take a few minutes to get that crap back in the mail and get a fresh batch.

also, aside from dusting, the price of OPT is another benefit. helps out my margin and time spent.
