Optimum Product Questions - Suggestions Needed

Hello All,

I have one question about some of the Optimum Products,

Plus I would like your suggestions on what products that I

should purchase.

My main question is about some of the spray products that

Optimum has.  Mainly, I am asking about the Hyper Polish and Compound.

If shaking is so important, it would see that the product that is already

in the spray nozzle would not get shaken up.  Is there any way to

empty the nozzle after using the product?

I have a question about what products you suggest for me.

I live in South Texas, where it is consistently hot (except for a few

cold days in winter).  I deal with alot of sand and deposits on paint

from the salt air.

While looking at OPT products, I have noticed that there is quite an overlap.

Meaning, that I can do the same thing with several of their products, so for

a non-full time detailer, I do not see the need for all of the products.

I first fell in love pre-2004 with their original Polish and Compound.

My favorite car detail products are Meguiars NXT Interior Detailer and

303 Aerospace protectant.  I am also looking for an OPT product to replace

these two. Is there anything that is similiar to the 303 for gaskets and rubber?

Is there an OPT product that is close to what Meguiars NXT was?

Meguiars now says that their "supreme shine" is an upgrade on the NXT forumla,

but I don't buy it.  It just doesn't work as good, or last as long.

I am looking to purchase larger bottles of a few of OPT products, so that I can

get a higher quantity for the price.  Here is what I am looking at.

No Rinse with Wax

Power Clean - 128oz

Protectant Plus 128oz

Tire Gel 128oz

Hyper Polish 64oz

Instant Detail and Gloss 32oz

Spray Car Wax 128 oz

Poli-Seal 32oz

Should I look at the GPS product rather than one listed above?

Do I need all of these products? Are there any overlaps?

Your input is valued.

Thanks,

William

Definitely get G-P-S instead of Poli-Seal. Better cut and finish and its actually pretty durable. I'd say its pretty comparable to NXT in appearance, at least as durable and it will remove light defects.

Regarding the product actually in the spray nozzle, I don't think separation would be an issue in the tube or nozzle. You'll be fine.

Optimum Car Wax is a great product, but you might be happier with Opti-Seal. 1 bottle is enough for 50+ cars and its wipe on and done. Excellent depth for a sealant, better than most carnaubas.

If all you do is details, then regular ONR is fine. If you do any maintenance washes, then I'd also pick up some ONR Wash and Wax to use on those vehicles.

Hey Scott.

Thanks for the prompt response.

I was planning on getting the ONR with wax in it,

As I can not see a reason for the one without.

Also, I do not know of a reason for the Instant

Detail and gloss, considering that I can make a QD

Out out the ONR. Does the instant detail and gloss provide

Much better results than QD ONR?

As for Optimum Seal, I am looking into the pro version,

Because I live in an area with high value cars.

Thanks for the tip about GPS instead of poli-seal.

Are there any reasons not to use wash and wax on a detail?

Will the wax in ONR conflict with actual waxes or sealers?

I didn't think that it would.

I just thought of something.....

I know that regular ONR can be used as a Quick Detailer,

but can the ONR Wash and Wax be used this way also?

I use regular ONR for details and for washing prior to applying Opti-Coat. If you use ONR WW, you'd have to use something else to wash if you are applying Opti-Coat. Plus since it costs more, doesn't make much sense to use it if you are going to polish a car. Won't hurt anything if you are polishing though, other than costing 20% more.

I got to try some of that onr w wax if David gives it his approval.

I wasnt happy with poli seal-didnt work as good as I wanted so I returned it and got another ONR wash and shine.

the instant detail and gloss enhancer is great-spray it on after using ONR wash but before drying...great results.

the spray car wax is good too as well as the tire gel.

I credit scottwax for turning me on to OPT products...I use them almost exclusively except for a few things.

If something works, I recommend it! :)

I haven't use Poli-Seal in a long time, G-P-S is a much superior product. More cut, better finish, much more durable.

The one thing missing in Optimum's line-up is a fast cut compound like Meguiars M100/101. Other than that, they have a pretty complete product line.
