Optimum product feedback...

I have some of Optimum polishes but I have yet to use them. I have read they have a long working time and it takes a little longer to break down. Opti seal is quick but not near as slick or as glossly as WD. Not sure about the longevity.

I have used ONR, Opti-Seal and Optimum Finish Polish. I love the ONR, as do most people. The Opti-Seal, as broker stated is very quick and easy to use. He also states that it is not as slick or as glossy as WD (what is?). This is all true, but the ease of aplictaion is just so rediculously simple. Spritz a very small amount onto your aplicator, and apply. No need to wipe off. If you have a dark car, you might need to lightly buff out streak marks if applied to heavy. I have gotten about 4-5 months with it on a DD. I have also used thier Finish Polish. Once again broker is correct in that it does have a long working time and needs more time to break down. I really liked this product. It was a very nice finishing touch after the main polishing was done. Went on easy, came off easy, and gave a very nice slick look.
 
I really like the the quick detailer. Nice shine even on a car with no wax or sealant. I forgot about that one. I also have some of the spray wax but have not tried it out yet.
 
I use No Rinse, Instant Detailer, Car Wax at least every other day. I use Polish too. A lot like Ultrafina.

You cannot go wrong with any of their products. Hoping PAC decides to take the plunge!!!!
 
I have yet to be disappointed with an Optimum product.

I've tried and used: Opti-Seal, ONR, Optimum Car Wax (spray), Leather Protectant, and their Instant Detailer and Gloss Enhancer.

Again, very impressed with all of these products, especially ONR, Opti-Seal and Car Wax spray. Their Instant Detailer is also very good, but you have to be careful when using it or it will streak. I've actually found it to give slightly more gloss than FK425.

I have not used any of their polishes, but next time I need to order more, I will be trying some.

I love Optimum products.

No Rinse is the best product in it's category, no bull...Opti-Seal is very nice, durability is decent 8+ weeks, depending on how you prep the paintwork...I use it mostly on wheels, because it is so easy to use, wipe on, and walk away. Optimum Polish II is quite nice too. Optimum Protectant Plus (leather protectant) and tire gel are also very nice products...Love their soap too, so slick and sudsy.
 
I have used most of their line up...the absolute must haves are ONR, OCW, and OID.

OS is good, but not great, and their leather protector (basically an interior dressing that can be used on leather) is nice if you like to dress interiors (I don't).
 
I've used Optimum Polish with a random orbital and got nice results. It's not particularly aggressive though. My clear coat isn't very hard, but the polish still couldn't remove some micro-marring that another polish removed with the same pad (System One with an Edge green 6" pad). Still, OP version 2 finished nicely and left a lovely gloss when used with a fine pad. I love that it doesn't dust and make a mess. I think OP was intended more for a rotary machine.

ONR is awesome! Recently a salt/plow truck drove by my car while it was parked next to the roadway at the grocery store. The bonnet, front bumper and fenders got clobbered with grime (not to mention some errant salt crystals!). Using a 2-bucket method with a pre-soak (ONR at instant detailer strength) I was able to get the car back up to snuff. No marring. ^_^
 
I'm another ONR fanboy but looks like you already have that covered. I'm just wating for the 55 gallon drum size! I have some Hyper Compund and Polish from a couple of years ago that are collecting dust as I've found better products. Optimum products are sun friendly if you ever find yourself having to work outside and without shade but again, that's not me.
 
Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread. In addition to ONR I grabbed some 8 oz samplers including Opti Seal, Poli Seal, OPII, Optimum Compound and their finishing polish. From what I'm seeing elsewhere I probably should've grabbed some OCW too, folks are raving about it. I generally only use spray waxes as a freshen-up over 845 but some are using it as LSP.

Only thing I've tried so far is the Opti Seal as none of the rides need polishing right now. Some have reported adding a couple of drops of OPII to their pad when using 105 to extend working time and lessen dusting. That'll be interesting to try when the time comes.

The Opti Seal is as incredibly easy to use as advertised and a little goes a long, long way. It gives a bit more of a hard-candy finish similar to Zaino, IMO, which I think will be primo topped with 845. Not nearly as slick as BFWD but as good looking AFAIC. Then again, IME, BFWD's slickness diminishes quickly after a few washes.

Since I was brilliant enough to demolish the LSP on half of the truck with the Shout fiasco I'll have an opportunity to try a few things out. I'll probably spot here and there with a few different products for a look-see and then hit the whole truck with Opti Seal and top with 845.

An interesting aside re: 845... I sent some to a guy I traded some samples with. He's been committed to Souveran, Fuzion, Swissvax and some of the other high-priced spreads. Says he was amazed and doesn't even want to think how much money he's been wasting over the years. He's peddling all his waxes and going with a $14 bottle of 845 in the future. Pretty much why I always find myself coming back to it as a final step every time. :w00t: YMMV.

I wouldn't think that 845 over Opti Seal would work at all. The solvents in 845 would pretty much displace the OS.

Are you thinking Opti Seal-specific or that 845 might compromise JetSeal or BFWD, or .........? I've seen threads were someone was talking about layering 845. The contrarians point out the solvents are stripping the existing layer. :::shrug:::

I was under the impression that a sealant, after curing and bonding, would be basically impervious to topping with any carnauba. But then, I guess 845 isn't purely carnauba as some suggest it actually oughta be classified as a sealant. Or not.....

No, I wasn't being OS specific, I would think it would apply to JetSeal and BFWD too.

I'm sorry but we will not be carrying Optimum in the foreseeable future. I love some Optimum products, you guys love them, so we would love to carry them, but sometimes logistics get in the way. So as much as I hate to not have them, we are working on some VERY interesting stuff.

This is the difference between this board and others. Even though PAC doesn't carry this line, a PAC representative has nothing bad to say about it and even says he likes some of the products himself. Compare this with comments on other boards (take a look at the AG board sometime) and you'll see the other guys trashing any product they don't sell and even spreading misinformation about competitors.

I'm not complaining, I like that you approve of them and promote conversation. Always looking for another company I trust to buy them from though :thumbup:

That is too bad. As a generally available product (unlike something like Zaino), I wonder why Optimum use exclusivity as a marketing practice.
