Optimum polishes noob friendly?

Optimum polishes are very noob friendly, just remember to use less than you think you need. Once the pad is primed with product, maybe 3 pea sized globs are all you need per section.

As with any polish, if it is difficult to wipe off, you used too much and/or didn't work it long enough.

i"ll be using a PC for the first time with Optimum polish and wanted to know how you go about priming the pad? Do i just apply the OP polish on it and make sure it covers the section i'm working on for the first time?

Yep, that is all you need to do.

I like my OP but you really need to use very very little, like amlost nothing... I think for a n00b I would personally recomend XMT. Its made for the pc soecifically, and its easy to use in the sun too. Just keep in mind xmt1 really has less cut than youd imagine so make sure you get at least 2 or 3 or even 4 and finish with 1.

I am a noob. I found Optimum Compound (very similar to Optimum Polish) not easy to use. I know I used too much and I might have not worked it long enough but even when I tried to use as little as possible and work it as long as I thought reasonable, I still didn't break it down quite perfect. I think compared Accumulator's description of 1Z, it is not noob friendly, in my noob opinion.

p.s. all those expert detailers pointing out noob friendly polishes has me kind of weary because they also said SSR2.5 is a good choice.. I found it very hard to keep it from dusting.. not really easy to use in my noob opinion either.

I'll say this I've only actually polished one entire vehicle with my PC. I've done spot corrections on my own cars (hood, roof and trunk) so I'm certainly not THAT experienced.

I used Optimum Polish and Compound as my first go at polishing and I followed what Scottwax and others here recommended for these polishes and I was VERY happy with the result.

I also tried the Menzerna FPII for a finishing polish. But to be honest after using the Optimum Polish I couldn't really tell a difference in gloss or clarity with the Menzerna.

Also the wonderful thing about the Optimum Compound is it doesn't "haze" like other compounds (from what I've read) so you don't have to worry about removing that haze as you do with other compounds.

Like I said I'm not very experienced and haven't tried other lines so I don't know if Optimum is harder to use than other products because I have no basis for comparison other than the Menzerna but I'm VERY happy with my results with the Optimum line.

Are the Optimum residues as easy as the SSR residues to remove? Also, do the Optimum polishes smell nice like the SSR's? I know smell isn't that important to most people, but I like it!!! Thanks in advance...

You know that huffing will only make the detail job last a whole lot longer!:nomore:

Get some samples the optimum line and see for your self. I did this and now have bought the whole shibang and just love it. I also like the Presta ultra light for hard to deal with areas.

I have used the Optimum line with a rotary and dang...........even better than with the PC. I can't mess it up, unless I move around too much and don't let the polish do its thing.

If you want I can sell you samples.......just need to find some small bottles.
