Optimum Polish

I guess I should go in to that a little more... :)

It works well and in the sun and heat (per sean ) it works just fine
it goes a long way and is very workable but he and i like it with a cutting pad and the finish up with a polishing pad with FPII but you can get the buffer marks out with BIG O and the polishing pad.

I've been using Optimum polish since late last year (actually tested it). There is a learning curve, but once you're past that, it's a great polish and it's a very glossy! You can actually remove defects and finish with the same polish using different pads.

For example.... OCW could replace Menzerna IP and FPII, or SSR2.5/SSR1 -very versitile stuff!

This polish does not dust, and on the rotary sling is very low. Actually, once you learn how to use it, you really don't get any sling at all.

A few tips....

1) You will work this polish in about twice as long via the PC. Optimum doesn't break down and vanish like an SSR (for example). On the rotary use 1400-1600RPM.

2) The Pad you use, dictates how aggressive the polish works. For example, don't try to remove moderate swirls with a light polishing pad. Use a med cut polish pad / orange pad for defects, then re-apply with a light polising or finishing pad to clean up your finish.
3) On your finishing polish step, I like to wipe off the residue with OCW (as indicated on the instructions). It's a real time saver, and produces very nice looking results.

Okay thanks the quick reply guys. I have a rotary, so probably going use Yellow LC pad or maybe Orange LC pads. Does it leave any marring? :huh

With the LC Yellow pads it does leave some marring that something like FPII would take out easily. If you use the Optimum with a polishing pads, LC white, you will get a nice gloss with no marring. I use it yesterday with a white pads to follow up some PG and it worked great. Optimum is with out a doubt the best deal out there, 32oz for $12.50 when Scott had the sale at SMP last week. Their clay is also a great deal.

Works great in the sun...Leaves a very glossy finish with no oils that hinder bonding with a sealant. The cut is about 3-4 out of 10. You can finish with a perfect finish on many vehicles.

Oops, sorry for late reply back. Yeah I tried out the OP, man its good I gotta say. I did try with white pad..Man, I think I did something wrong or what I d/k. So, I when back with orange pad and was awesome. :dancin

p.s You guy seen Anthony in Autopia using that new Optium product? Its some sort of compound or something? This one here

I'm digging the stuff !!!

I used Optimum Polish for the first time today and, like every one is saying..., this stuff is GREAT !

NO DUSTING is a big plus for me. I loved the look I got after removing some very light scratches. I went directly to the Car Wax. No glaze this time.

It's now my favorite polish ! :jump

Great polish. Lots of product for a nice price, spreads forever, great consistency, and makes great results if used correctly!

That pretty much sums up why I like to use it. Are you guys using OCW for your final wipe down? It's a very easy way to seal your car, and after a few applications you'll notice a nice pop to your finish.

I like Optimum Polish a lot too. When used with Optimum Car Wax, you can do "express" details quickly and with very nice results. When I detailed our Envoy, I simply went around the car with my PC, a cutting pad, a polishing pad and a few towels. One trip around the car and it was polished and ready for waxing.

That's the prototype Compound in action. Super crazy stuff that requires a good professional. I'm still trying to decide if the OCW Spray works perfectly well.

Yeah, it does take longer to spread than other polisher. I like it thou, it doesnt dust like other brand in the market. Are you using a rotary?

Not yet :D but I'm starting to believe it's best used with a rotary, otherwise use alot less product and spread it more. THat's the only problem I've found, oh and shake it often!
