Optimum Polish Seperating

anyone know when the "new" optimums without the mixing problems will be out?

I am looking to get some as I've heard great reviews but I'm not in the mood to use some funky chunky stuff.

I wasn't sure if this was speculation or if there really is an updated OP coming out???

I see Scottwax is in contact with them but I thought we'd have further news by now.

Yes, I'm Mr. Impatient but it is time for a new order.

I haven't used my OP since last year but went to shake the OP and it shook like a normal liquid polish. Shook it for 10 seconds and it was ready to use.

HEY PEOPLE.....

Yes it seems that there is a bad batch of OCP out there BUT it still works just the same.

To remedy the situation I have had to place my 6 bottles of OCP through a food processer. We have an old Oster food blender and this has worked GREAT! Place the OCP in the container, mix it for a few minutes and then scoop it into one of those squeeze tubs bakers use to dispense frosting and then squeeze it back into its bottle.

The new batch of OCP being made is going through several cycles of mixing plus a certain type of "cold brewing" before being bottles to ensure this doesn't happen again.

David usually doesn't post on forums so I will speak for him here in stating that he is very sorry for this and he has spent alot of time and money to bring everything in-house so he can control the quality of his products. I have a sample of the polish from the new mixing process and it is wonderful.....it just melts out the bottle like a Dairy Queen frosty! :bigups

I too am sorry for the trouble this may cause hyou all but it is being addressed.

RX8 is right - contact Optimum directly and they will resolve the problem. Optimum's CEO, David, is a real class act and he even sent me a bottle of OCW to comp me for the return shipping.

I agree. I do the "pour" out before and shake real hard and the consistency is good.

Thanks for conveying that Anthony!

I feel badly that they had to go through all that trouble but I am thankful they listened and resolved the problem. Excellent response to customer complaints and much appreciated.

I look forward to getting my new frosty bottle!

The blender is a good idea, but I won't mess with it. What do we do with our bottles that have this problem, ask for an exchange at their exspense or ours? We shouldn't have to shell out more $ for a manufacturing error.

Not sure when the new polish will be out but for those with the clumpy polish they can either blend it -OR- contact David at Optimum and he will send you a new cap with a larger hole in it so it won't clog.

As stated before, the polish works the same as a non clogging polish...it's frustrating though I know. This issue has been taken care of and as soon as I find out when the new bacth will be ready for shipment I'll let you guys know.

I had contacted David about the "chunks" in the OP.

We sent a couple of emails back and forth.

Today I recieved a new cap from David. The new cap has a larger hole in the nozzle. I put it on the OP and was able to squezze out the product without any effort or fighting with the bottle. I only dispensed a little bit as I did not want to waste it, but enough to believe that it will work now. The larger nozzle dispensed the clumps too.

Just thought you folks would want to know.

If any one needs polish auto geek has a good supply. They purchased the last of davids stock. Prior to shipping david personaly hand mixed each bottle.

Like Stickman81 said, you can e-mail David at Optimum and he'll send you a cap that has a bigger nozzle. Still haven't received mine yet but hopefully it helps!

I can vouch for this..I just got a bottle of OP through Autogeek and it looks perfect without any noticeable clumps. :xyxthumbs

Well, if the blender trick works, I will have to find a garage-sale blender that I can use. No way is the polish touching the one I use for food!

The Polish should not be chunky. The first bottle I ever received of Optimum was perfect in it's consistancy and I loved it. I heard from one supplier that it was a bad batch, and he was expecting new stock in. He received it, sent it to me, and it's a lot better. While it's good of David to send someone a new cap, it shouldn't be chunky in the first place, and that kind of inconsistancy can't help with the polishing action itself either with dryish chunks of polish lumping on the pad. Anyway, if anyone is ordering Optimum I would suggest mentioning with the order that you expect the new stock and that it shouldn't be chunky at all.

This is still my favourite Polish ever though.

Yea..these are growing pains. David recently brought everything in house to keep better control over production and quality...plus he had alot of "snoopers" from elsewhere trying to get info on his polish formula. Even one caught red-handed :sign

I have a few bottles with clumps but have not found that they cause adverse effects....they feel kinda cool between my fingers as I squish them :chuckle:

The reason those caps were chosen was so people wouldnt use too much of the product. Too much would take too long to break down, and the desired results wouldnt be accomplished in an affordable amount of time.

Gotta ketchup bottle? Problem solved. Not that big of a hassle if you get a little creative. Even with the slight lumping, it doesnt affect results.

FYI...I just received my new cap today from David at Optimum. I am sure this is going to alleviate the problem. I used a drill and widened the end on my old cap and had no issues.
