Optimum Polish Separating

I went to use my Optimum Polish II and Finish polish last weekend and was surprised to see that it had essentially turned to colored water.  Even after a lot of shaking, I could never get it back to a creamy consistency.  I kept it stored inside so it was not subjected to freezing over the winter.   I contacted Optimum and they said this was the new normal due to increasing VOC requirements.  They suggested pouring off some of the separated water and then shake again.  This helped but it still doesn't resemble the original product.  I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this type issue and with any other products besides Optimum?

Thanks, Nick

Being a pro detailer, I would imagine you use products far too quickly for them to separate.  I had some PoliSeal separate but it had been sitting around for a year or so since I switched over to Finish Kare so it was my fault for letting it sit so long, in no way the fault of Optimum.

Just to clarify, I am not a professional detailer; just an enthusiast who was educated on this site and most appreciative for what I learned.  Thanks for the feedback.

Even when stored inside it's best to go and shake them on a regular basis. Sometimes that doesn't even help though. If optimums suggestion didn't work and they said it's common it might be time to toss the product.

I put a bit of Varsol in the jug and shook for quite some time. Still seemed separated but getting better. Ended up pouring into a mixing bowl and separating the solid from the liquid. Mixed the liquid into the solid slowly with a wisk (I think that is what it's called-egg beater thing) and a bit of Varsol. Eventually it went back to the original state. Very messy process and cleanup was gross. Hardest part was getting the product back in the bottle. In the future am only going to order 8 oz. size as just a hobby guy.

I ordered a gallon of megs express wax once, thinking it was the liquid spray on version, so it sat for 1 1/2 yrs. I pulled it out about a week ago and it had separated completely. no amount of shaking could bring it back and had to trash it. I have had to toss some optimum poli seal before after it sat too long also.

nothing so unusual

most of my OPT product separates when it arrive here

no amount of shaking could bring it back and had to trash it

i never had that issue with meguairs and Polish Angel

from my observation.....most of the 2 in 1 products behave seperates themselves....poliseal....GPS.......PRC Meguairs....but OPT compound and polish is not excemptional

sad sad sad...
I have had to toss some optimum
alot of them
