Optimum polish fine enough for finishing?

I think people put to much thought into finishing polishes.

A painted surface can only get so "perfect". Once all the marring and imperfections are removed, well, thats it. Dosent matter what your finishing polish is, as long as the paint is imperfection free at the end. After that the rest of the look is gonna come down to what sealant/wax you use.

I'm not sure I totally agree with that. I have done details on a BMW before, same process, same waxes, different polishes and to my eye, I have noticed different results.

Sure there are a lot of variables and that's a hard process to test for sure, but I put most of my thought into the polish stage period (whether it is to remove heavy swirling or to finish).

On most cars, except those with very soft paint, I can finish out with OP and green Cyclo or Propel Cyclo pads (both are considered polishing pads) and be more than LSP ready. On softer paints, I use the white Cyclo finishing pads with OP.

I dont think poli-seal should be allowed in this convo. Obviously its gonna look "better", it has protection in it that is going to change the overall look. This isnt the purpose of a finishing polish, which is what we are talking about.

poli-seal is a finishing polish.

i agree with what scottwax said in another thread: poli-seal is a win win situation. you get a great final with some protection. saves you some time and money.

Don't get me wrong, I love OP.....for certain jobs.
