optimum poliseal questions....

I am about to use poliseal for the first time on my moms metallic grey 2012 acura rdx... car has been washed and clayed

paint needs to be corrected in a couple spots where there are couple light scratches and light etchings but all in all very good looking paint for a 2 yr old car... once I am done with the correcting (will use the flex 3401 for that with wolfgang polishes) I am wondering what is the best way to apply the poliseal

white pad or orange or tangerine for the poliseal? like I said paint looks good but there are a few light etchings and water spots, ect... I am thinking white but was wondering what others use?

topping the poliseal? should I top the poliseal? assuming I only want to do 1 further step after the poliseal what would be best, 1 coat of blackfire wet diamond all finish paint sealant or 1 coat of blackfire midnight sun ivory carnuba wax?

is there any reason to use the flex3401 versus the gg 6" for applying the poliseal? if I don't need to correct, I like the ease of use of the gg

PoliSeal is a great product.

Cleaning power is unreal

Personally I use a white LC pad (be prepared to see how dirty paint really is even after polishing)

I'd wait to cure then myself I'd hit it with sealant of some sort then if you like wax over it
 
thx.... I am looking fwd to testing it out... will go with white lc pad

will top with bf wd afpp, maybe 2 coats

very interested to see how it cleans the paint as a 1 step, have never used a 1 step before

Quite simply, it does what it says it does, and does it well

just make sure you shake the heck out of it before use
 
if you are going to use the blackfire products as a follow up, you will have better results if you use bftpns and skip the poliseal. blackfire products all contain similar polymers and with bond much better together. applying the bf products over the poliseal may work, but the bonding and durability will be less.

bf tpns was my first choice but couldn't get it in time so went with the poliseal instead
 
i didn't have the best results with poliseal. it had a 3 week shelf life when i tried it a few years ago. i dont like to polish a car with cottage cheese.
 
so I got the car finished.... here are my initial impressions of poliseal and a couple questions.... obviously, the true test wont be seen for weeks (and hopefully months) or as long as the sealant holds up

poliseal works amazing as a cleaner/sealant... for example, once your windows are washed and still have light etching and water spots on them, hit them with either orange or white with the poliseal and windows come out amazing and already seald, big time saver rather than having to go over the window again.... this will be my goto window routine for all my cars, very fast

poliseal correcting... didn't really see any real correcting... I am not saying that you could not correct light swirls or scratches (I didn't try as I used different polishes to correct the parts that needed it) but in the car that I was polishing with hard clear coat, it would have been very difficult to do so with poliseal

consistency is very good, you do not need to use much product at all, I am sure I used too much... for removal of the product, it comes of very very easily with a mf towel... but just for kicks, I let the poliseal cure for about hour and then before I removed it, I hit the whole car with blackfire midnight sun spray wax, let them both haze, and then wiped it off gently.... the paint looked gorgeous after that but I then did one more coat of spray wax on top... looks amazing

my question is, what amount of time/passes should I use to apply poliseal? since the car was basically already clean and polished, I really didn't need any polishing ability of the product, or at least very little... so I used my 6" gg and ran it with a black pad and ran it on speed 1 and and did a few passes to rub sealant in and then I turned it up to 3 and did a few passes and then I moved to the next section... how long do you need to work this type of sealant to get maximum penetration into the paint?

there are no instructions on the bottle for da polisher, only rotary where it says to use very little product, just enough to lubricate... polish till invisible.... at 1200 rpm
 
I would use speed 4-5, firm pressure, and work it in over a 2 x 2 to 3 x 3 section until nearly clear and wipe off immediately. It shouldn't take too much product, a few very small drops, and work quickly.
