Optimum Poli-Seal + Collinite 845

As a new-comer, I have to have 10 posts before I can post some pics, sorry. I applied this combo to a black '07 daily driver, really pleased with the result. I hadn't used the Poli-Seal before, put it on with a green pad on a 3401. Great product, went on smooth, worked well and wiped right off. The 845 is an old favourite of mine and the two products did well together.

For ease of use and end result, is there a better combo for a daily driver?

3, welcome aboard!

Are you looking to add more products to your collection? If so, what do you not like about the #845 as your final step?

Thanks Tom! I guess I'm not really one to chase the latest and the greatest, but like everyone else, I always wonder what's out there. There's not much I don't like about 845 to be honest, I always seem to come back to it. Looks good and wears like iron. Thanks for the welcome.

Its a combo I used to use way back when, it does look good but these days OCW makes me happier for cars I want a wax look on and OOS for when I want that sealant look.

Dan, how have you found the longevity with OCW? I've found it really nice for a quick spray and shine after a wash but I can't get it to last more than two washes. Maybe I'm applying it wrong?

I'm getting 1-2 months durability by spraying it onto a dry panel and buffing off with a microfiber. Using about 1oz per car. What are you using as a wash?

Hmm, now you have me wondering about my system. I use Meguiars ultimate wash and wax to wash. When I've used OCW I think I've used quite a bit more than you, probably 2-3 ounces per wax.

If you like Poli-Seal, you'll love Optimum G-P-S. More cut, better finish, way more durability than Poli-Seal.

Well more OCW certainly couldn't hurt but maybe the Megs wash is?

I agree with Scottwax. The GPS is much better and you can top that with 845 if you wish. I use this on my black DD Tahoe and it works well.

I have been using that combo for years on customer's cars. The Poli-Seal adds a polymer protectant and if the customer pays more I will add a coat of 845IW which is basically the ideal layering which saves you time instead of using another product like Opti-Clear or that other German product ! ...LoL
