Optimum or Zaino

I've searched and read so many threads on these products, now I would like your opinions. For those that have used both products, which do you prefer ?

Currently use ZAIO, Z2, Z6/Z8 and ZCS. Pretty happy with them, but I always wonder when I'm finished detailing my SUVS, is there something better.

I'm not a pro, just a hobbyist and want your expert opinions on both.

Paint color-Natural White on (2) SUV's- Sequioa and a 4Runner.

It is really just a matter of preference. Zaino probably has longer durability but Optimum may be a little cheaper.

Where I live the humidity is always high, and it can take forever for Zaino to dry. Even with very thin coats.

After the streaks and smears Zaino does look great, but I can get a great looking finish with Optimum products as well. Plus, I've never had any trouble with streaks or smears with Optimum products.

ONR, Poliseal, OCW, Optiseal, and OID looks great on white. You can also layer OCW over optiseal if you want.

I used Zaino on white for years. Started using OptiSeal about a year ago. On my white Volvo, I think OptiSeal smokes Z2Pro in every facet. My pick : OptiSeal

That's kind of what I was thinking as well. Is optiseal a must, or can I get by with the spray wax ?

What products should I start with ?

Since it seems you're not getting results or not quite happy with Zaino, then you may as well try something else. So if it's Optimum, give it a try. What can it hurt?

Some issues with Zaino is from polish leftover oils or other surface contamination that can effect the results.

yes, when it's humid, Zaino takes it's time. ZFX helps, but it's best done in dry weather whenever possible. Streaking can be from too much or as I said, other "stuff" on the finish. try an IPA wipe before Zaino, then Z6 the area, then apply the Z2Pro/ZFX mix with a fresh applicator. Streaks can be removed with Z7 soap mix with distilled water in a spray bottle.

Since I've never used Optimum or know how it's based I cannot advise but there are many who can lend a hand.

I wish more mfg's of products would do smaller "sample" size bottles/cans of their line so more can try things without purchasing a full amount only finding it doesn't fit what you want.

In the past, I was sending bottles of Menzerna to several members who asked to try it. I sent all at no cost at that time when I kept gallons of the stuff, so I thought I'd share.

Anyway, see if there is a member close to you that may have it (Optimum) so you can try it first and you may also learn the tips/tricks of the product.

If you like the look of Zaino and don't like it's finicky ways - been there too, try Black Fire Wet Diamond sealant. I did, and it worked great, even here in the hot humid south.

I've been using the Zaino lineup for a few years now, and have never found it hard to use. Just not quite sold on the ZCS after using it. Z2 is nice, the Z8 is awesome.

I guess that's why I question the opti-seal. Thinking I'll definately order the poli-seal and the polish, and still undecided on my LSP.

I use PGP and Z2 about 80% of the time with each splitting that about in half. I was already using Zaino when I started using PGP. Sometimes it just depends on what I'm in the mood for and sometimes it's by request.

Honestly, on white and silver paint, Zaino has disappointed me lately. Sometimes I swear I got a bad batch.

Here's a clasic result of Zaino on silver G35.
