Optimum No Rinse, Q & A

Bought my first bottle and gave it a try, it certainly is easy to use and quick to wash you vehicle but I have a few questions. I am surprised there are no suds ie it looks like plain water when mixed, am I doing something wrong? It does not feel slippery at all. Do you guys save what is left over, the bucket (two bucket method used) is clean and still have 3/4 gallon left, it seems to expensive to toss out? Oh the vehicle is very shinny and slick when complete.

even if you hit it with a pressure washer very little suds. if the water left behind is clean sure use it as a qd or lube, or even reuse it. itd have to be pretty clean though.

There should be hardly any suds. The product is purely chemical. If you have some left over do your wheels or wheel wells. You could even do your door jambs if your really wanted to use all of it, but I usually just toss the rest out. I only use 1 oz per 1 gallons so your not really throwing away money there.

Yup no suds, and maybe your making too much? I used to make 2 gallons but realized it was more then I need, now I make only 1.

There's been a couple discussions here about how suds really don't indicate anything about how well a soap or detergent will work.

How dirty of a car can you do with this ( i understand , no mud or salty winter cars) ? Can you use a 1 bucket wash technique if the car is not really dirty ? What about mixing it to use like aPB Spray & Wipe product ?

I understand you can use it in any situation, but I am sure there will be lots of other comments, lets see. The 2 bucket method is always better but when really dirty I think it is a necessity to be safe.

I always use the 2 bucket method. I do both of our cars with 2 gallons. I use about 3 oz of QEW in 2 gallons of water. If very dirty then I use 4oz. Like said above, I use about 5 sprays from any QD I have around in the QEW bucket. I use a pretreat (12oz water 1 oz QEW in a spray bottle) on the areas are real dirty. This would work good in the winter.
