Optimum leather protectant

man... my car makes those look like they were just polished with every product 3M makes and then layered with 20+ coats of what ever you want to use. I just washed it today (it took 3 times over with dawn and a mit and lots of rinising to get everything off) it was so bad it almost looked like something was growing on it... i also have a vtec sticker on the side that was completly covered up. I took some pictures before hand... i'll probably be able to throw them on here for you all to see (or cry). Also, yes my car is black so that makes it look a tad dirtier... (though you couldn't really tell what color it was by looking at the pics)

Yeah, I wish Bret would post those pictures! Mine didn't turn out, so it's up to Bret to come through for us!

I have more pics of Prinz and Steve on more hard drives in more files and on more Smart Media cards saved in more file sizes and resolutions............ gotta stop the madness!!!

OK, here's one for ya:

Here's my truck after it was under a tree during a rainstorm. I couldn't get it to show up well enough in a picture but the pollen ran down the sides so the sides are also covered with spots of pollen.

First off... i have a sticker on the side on below the side molding just behind the door that says DOHC VTEC... can you see it? that is caked on grime from the roads of Colorado. This was a few days ago.. it's clean now (and looks great.. those pics to come). I had to do 3 washes with dawn to get all that crud off. I didn't want to scrub too hard, because it probably would of scratched up my finish. my friends and i think something looks like it started growing... but at least it's gone now.

Since those pics were taken, I have cleaned the Maxima. In fact, I had it washed and then topped it with Souveran. After pics forthcoming.

Usually, I hand-wash down at the blast-o-matic (take my own bucket, soap, and mitt, and use their water for rinse); but, with the weather in the mid-50's and the roads finally dried out, everyone in Omaha was washing their cars. Rather than try to do a rushed hand-wash with others waiting, I decided to try something different. I still went to the blast-o-matic and got the bulk of the salt and crud off with the pressure wash. Then, I took the WRX back to my apartment and broke out two buckets, a five-gallon water can, and a two-gallon garden sprayer.

The garden sprayer served as my pre-rinse and rinse . . . I would wet a panel with the sprayer, wash with a cotton mit, then rinse with the sprayer and dry the panel with a BB. I used the two-bucket method, and still switched to fresh shampoo and rinse water about 1/2 way through (just toooooo much grime). It took me a couple of hours to wash that way without a good running water source, but on the other hand, I was able to take a long time on each panel and really get it clean. The car looked better than I had expected when I was done, as I hope the pictures will illustrate:

A couple more shots . . . that exhaust tip is on the end of a Thermal Research & Design 3" cat-back exhaust. Not much extra power yet (still need to uncork the rest of the exhaust path - <strong class='bbc'>three[/b] catalytic converters), but oh, that boxer growl!
