Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer

I like it. It is a good "drying" QD. I use it before drying after washing. Adds a nice shine and is a good value.

I've used all the Meguiar's QDs, several OTC including Eagle One and Turtle Wax Platinum, and all the Chemical Guys QDs. I like the Optimum better than all of them.

Consider something like Mothers FX Spray Wax...not much more difficult to apply, costs less, better slickness, some durability

What dilutions do you use or find non-streaking. I have so far only used it at the specified dilution listed on the bottle. 3:1?

Depends on the actual water quality. You may have to go up to 4.5:1, but that's in an extreme case.

I'm using it usually in the 3.5-4:1 range.

Yep, I use it 4:1. And if you do the math, its cheaper than most store bought QD's and it works so much better. One this that makes it special for me is how good it makes plastic look. Most QD's do nothing on black trim/plastic.

It's not hard to figure out that a gallon of OID at 50 bucks making 4+ gallons of QD over time (at 3:1 or better) is a better deal than off the shelf QD, even without getting all math-heavy.

QD at the store: $6 bucks for 16 oz = 8.33333 bottles until you've spent $50. That's 'only' 133 ounces. You're getting 512+ oz out of a gallon of OID for your $50.

3:1 has worked fine for me. However, the new ONR is so good with regards to slickness and gloss I find myself using QDs less and less these days.

Bence and yakky,

Just so we are on the same page, you guys are talking about dilutting the concentrate 4:1, not dilutting the mixture that was obtained by dilutting the concentrate.

Thanks,

Kajunman

i use it and like it alot. i dilute it like the direction say and always with distilled water, which, imho, makes a huge difference.

I've found it performs average.

However, the scent is awesome, love it!

I had to get used to the scent actually, but I love the slickness and shine.
