Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer Five Stars

Are the 17oz bottles/spray already premixed?

Great question..I looked at the 32oz and it doesn't even say it's concentrated. Where did we get the info that it was concentrated? I can't find the answer on the website, however this doesn't explain the difference in shipping. Weight is weight no matter if it premixed or concentrate.

Contacted Phil at DD and the 17oz is premixed. Great question silk...you have redeemed yourself from earlier post.:goodjob

Thanks...we already figured it out. Didn't bother looking at Autogeek..Was looking at DD and they do not mention anything about it being concentrate. That is why the question was asked. Seems like DD is the only one that is carrying the 17oz and gallon size as well.

This detail spray is awesome. I really like it. I'm currently using it over NXT 2.0 when I ONR.

On a side note, the hydrophobic properties of NXT 2.0 make an ONR wash REALLY easy.

I have a 32oz bottle, it is concentrate, it says right on the bottle and if you check Justin's site, it also says concentrate. 17oz is not concentrate, 32oz and gallon are concetrate.

Optimum

When you consider the price of the 32 oz concentrate being around $20 + shipping, this is really a good deal.

I can't even buy a premixed gallon of Chemical Guy's detail spray for that price, which is also a good quality product but still not on the same level as OID.

Just got my order of Optimum Instant Detailer from exceldetail.com and made a gallon out of the 32 oz using distilled water. Awesome!!!! I thought FK425 and DG 521 were good. This one actually produces a deeper gloss on black and is slicker. IMO, it's a lot better than all the QD's I've used (FC&S, Mothers, UQD, FK425, DG521, Hi-Temp, Wolfgang). It's very easy to use and doesn't streak. I sometimes find FK425 streaky, especially on top of a carnauba such as NB or S100.

OID is now my favorite QD. With a gallon at $25.00 including S&H (32 oz. concentrate making a gallon of QD), it's extremely economical. Very highly recommended.

have u guys used this is milldly cold weather yet. Maybe it was the wind chills to - low 40's.

OID diluted with distilled water. I was getting some weird white specks with the product. Very fine white specks. I was using OID with my Monster Fluffy MF. I was pretty sure the MF was clean but now all my Monster Fluffys are getting a wash with micro restore. It was not mf lint but just very fine fine white specks like pollen ...

Unless my dilution was off but I'm pretty sure it wasn't.

I've applied it in that temp range with no streaking and nothing like you mention. Have you reproduced this effect on more than one vehicle, different sprayer, different temp? Sounds strange indeed.

I've been using the new Optimum QD for a few weeks now. The more I use it, the more I like it! The weather has been crazy down here in West Texas. I've used OID in cool, warm & hot weather with no problems at all. (50's,70's,80's & 1 day at 91 degrees) The real test for me will be when the hot-humid weather gets here. Some products just don't perform well for me in humid conditions. So far, the OID is as advertised.

Me too. The more I use it the more I like it. Great for use on everything on your car. Glass, trim, chrome rims, etc. Haven't tried it on tires cause I use OPTIMUM TIRE SHINE. It is also awesome.

Crap. I found this thread today after ordering a gallon of Meg's day before yesterday. Serves me right for not staying up to date. :(

^^ Send it back.....haha! Seriously though, OID is awesome. Slickness is very good. Plus, if you buy a quart or a gallon, it can be diluted 3:1 so essentially, a quart makes a gallon and a gallon makes a 4 gallons.

They haven't shipped it yet... wonder if I could call and cancel it. I really want the OID! :)

How does this stuff work over nuba LSPs?

It's great over anything. It's definitely the best QD I've used. Although, I've not used the FK stuff which is supposed to be pretty good. Bang for the buck though, I would imagine that OID is hard to beat.

I just used Instant Detailer last weekend and I have to agree that it is very nice. Gloss-factor is high (at least on my red car) and I didn't experience any streaking. I can see this as part of my long-term QD rotation (along with 425 and Quickshine). :)
