optimum hyper polish

Allright, I am ready to put the winter layer on my '00 Barritz Blue 540i tonight. Below is a list of what I have in my garage so which products should I use and in which order? I washed my car today but did not use anything but my Sonax so I am not sure if I need to strip the wax off or just get started. Also, what should drying times be? I have purchased numerous products based on opinions I have read on this forum and others.

I was going to do it by hand but I also have an old orbital that I have had a while. I use that on the Expedition because that thing is a pain in the butt do to big areas by hand. Any comments on this?

Here is what I got (this is my paint polishing list only, don't ask about the rest)...

Mothers Clay Bar

One Grand Wax, Bug and Tar Remover

Meg. Scratch-X

3M Scratch Remover

3M Imperial Hand Glaze

3M Perfect-It for Dark Cars

3M Perfect-It (Purchased before I got this car)

Klass All in One

Klasse Sealant Glaze

One Grand Blitz Wax

Zymol - The Zyrtle kind (use mainly on rims)

Meg. Final Inspection

Einman Fabrik Clear Pearl Detail Spray

Viper MF Towels

Miracle Towels

Old 100% cotton shirts

My plan was going to be:

(Probably don't need to clay as finish is pretty smooth)

Bug and tar where needed but it is mostly clean

3M Scratch remover where needed - Do you just rub and rub with this stuff or what is best?

3M IHG

Klasse AIO - Get off right away

Klasse Sealant Glaze - Let sit as long as possible, possibly overnight

One Grand Blitz Wax

Remove each with Viper MF towels, except for OG Blitx Wax which I will use fluffy side of Miracle Towel.

I have previously used the good Zymol and followed up with water mist and wipe for a nice clean look after waxing. I am not sure if this has the same effect with One Grand or not. I don't suppose I need the detail spray until the next wash.

Also, what is the diff between the Perfect-It and IHG?

Let me know if this is overkill, underkill or if I am leaving something out.

TIA

overkill is not possible ;)

The "glaze" in IHG is not compatilble with the Klasse part of your system, you don't need to use it.

The FI-II will work on the medium swirls where needed and if there is any haze 3M or Megiars SMR will remove them.

Replace the old t-shirts possilbly with a quality towel. Might be better for Blitz removal.

I'm sure others here may take apart the rest for you ...

Today I washed my Golf TDI with Meguire's Gold shampoo/wash, applied a second layer of Klasse SG (first one was applied about one month ago; still beading water), followed by one coat of Meguire's No. 26 liquid wax. Looks stunning, though I know come Spring I'll need to clay it to smooth out some paint irregularities. I feel confident that my car will get through Winter ok.

This all took some time to complete, so my advice is not to go too crazy if you can help it. Life has other facets, too.

got a chance to use this stuff this morning on my f150. i did a onr wash and ipa wipedown before using it on each panel and all i can say is WOW!!!!! this is truly the one step polish my back has been looking for. i used a white lc pad with my makita rotary on 3 and it wiped out all the rids and was ready for lsp. sorry i didn't do pics cuz it was too hot and just wanted to get it done asap but this is the sh&%$%@t. move over megs 105/205

Sounds great. Could this be the next BIG thing? Optimum always comes out with great new products.

Am I the only one who sees using speed 3 on the makita is a bit high for a Ford? Maybe I'm wrong but I don't really go above 2500. Anyway, I'm glad you wrote a review. I'm interested in this product as well as the other Optimum products coming out soon. One thing I love about Optimum polishes are the deep rich gloss that is left behind, but I like Menz for the cutting. Does it measure up to SIP at all or have you used SIP? Thanks for the review.

Speed 3 on the Makita is 2100 rpm

Cool review. How would you compare, in your experience, OHP to something like Menzerna SIP?

the ohp had much shorter working time. it actually removed all the rids and such and finished lsp ready in one application. that i like. with sip i'd have to work until it broke down and then finish with 106fa then maybe jewel with final polish 2. ohp was a lot easier to me...
