Yes, I started that thread and yes I was again banned for the 2nd time in a year! I'm now infamous
Let me first state that I do not sell this product, yes I do sell some Optimum stuff to local detailers but I no longer have a website store and my total sales for the last 3 months is around $40......so you can see I don't really care if I sell anything or not because it's just not that important to me.
My reason for starting that thread over there was to show detailers (pros) that there is another way to make money rather than busting your buns all day buffing out paint. I had no idea it would grow into the monster it did....almost 5 pages in one night!
I was called a "shill" but if that was my purpose then I would have posted it on ALL 18 automotive forums that I belong to, including DC, but honestly that was not my purpose. I see that they not only banned me but also removed the entire thread, which is rather overkill in my eyes but it's not my forum.
I have also been banned once before from DC (and will most likely get banned again) but was asked to come back to share what I know with others BUT here is my dilemma. I mainly use Optimum products so when I comment or reply to people naturally I will mainly reply to people using or having questions associated with Optimum products....why? Well I have the most experience with these products.
I have already been told to "cool it" by DC admins (and I understand why) but when was my last post on DC and how many total posts do I have since being back? Why am I stating this? Well I want people to understand the "rock and hard place" situation I have here. I was thinking of posting up at the Optimum forums all the current info on this coating and posting up here a link to that BUT after some careful thought I figured that wouldn't be accepted and then removed.
So I shall give a quick run down of where the coating is now and try to do so without sounding like a "shill" or ticking off any sponsors.
Yes, at first the coating was to be applied via an air gun but after some additional beta samples it can now be applied as easily as OptiSeal or Clear Seal or the Ultima product.
It does not have a long shelf life thus the reason why it will not be sold in large quantities.
You can use 1 to 2 ounces per car.
I have no idea about price at the moment nor a specific date for its release, other than knowing it will be within 2 to 3 weeks.
It may be sold in a 5 or 10 pack set or also individuals.
Doctor G. claims he will only sell it to professional detailers. People wishing to try it can contact a local professional in their area who may have some.
It is not a wax nor your traditional sealant but rather more like a permanent wax/sealant. All the properties of a wax/sealant (UV protection, water sheeting/beading, ease of washing, drying) but lasts up to 3 years or more.
It's applied with a sponge (best is 100ppi) or with a low pile mf towel, even a paper towel works nicely but it has to be the blue shop type.
It can be applied to paint, clear and single stage, glass, plastics, hard trim and chrome.
Now I may be banned shortly after this but if so, I understand. I am not though selling anything here, only providing information. If anyone suggests I am getting paid for this then the burden of proof is on them to prove it. I have provided only information to peoples questions. I have given no links to websites on where to buy, no phone numbers to call, just seeking to answer questions and if anyone has anymore questions I will do my best to reply, if I can.
Thanks,
Anthony
