Optimum Car Wax ...

Luster

COMPULSIVELY ANAL
I have checked several sources and can't seem to determine weather OCW is a carnuba-based or synthetic wax.

I suspect, by it's longevity, that it's a synthetic.

Nothing but good reports on this product. Planning to purchase soon.

Definetly a Synthetic. It's also a "breatheable" wax, it won't stop the outgassing of sealants or new paint. It's a great product, easy to use, looks nice on a variety of colors, and very versatile.

Just found the answer on AutoGeek.

Optimum is the first and only wax that contains UVA and UVB absorbers to shield your paint from all the sun’s harmful rays. The patent-pending formula combines high-grade carnauba wax and silicone sealants to give you outstanding shine and protection. The carnauba produces a warm, high-impact shine that is the standard in the auto care industry while the silicone sealants bond the shine to the paint to create the long-lasting durability typical of a synthetic wax. paint has a beautiful, wet shine and is protected from the sun, acid rain, and pollution for up to 5 months!

Tubafreak--that means u can layer it on top of another polymer sealant immediately after with no problems?? Cool!

Not too sure if it's advisable as the sealant needs time to cure first. If I'm not mistaken OCW can be quite finicky on top of sealant or carnauba ( I can't remember which)

OCW does not like to be applied on top of some carnubas. The only sealer that I've had issues applying it over is EX (probably because of the carnuba), but EX-P works just fine for me. I applied OCW with a finishing pad last night on top of UPP x 2, and my silver paint is very wet looking.

I have tried applying OCW over NXT immediately with no problem and this is how it looks,

Has anyone applied OCW over KSG? And if so, how did it look and how was the durability? I've also read that you shouldn't put OCW over a carnauba (Nattys, NB)?

I've had good luck recently applying and removing KSG  and am hopping that OCW works well and looks good over it. If so, I'm thinking this would make a nice winter combo for my daily driver. :-p

Thanks for you help!
