opti-seal then s100 then opti-seal?

Hi guys,

I know poli seal should be fine over a carnauba. I've actually done it before.

I'm just wondering if the above steps are worthwhile?

Or am I wasting my time. I could never determine for sure whether the poli-seal protects the carnauba finish?

The poliseal probably stripped whatever was left of the carnauba as it has some decent cleaners. It is likely that OS will have bonding problems over the very wet S100.

What look are you going for?

Are you talking about opti-seal or poli-seal? From what i understand when opti-seal is applied above carnauba, it will go under it and won't stay on top. I might be wrong though. But the idea is sensible, opti-seal as base for durability and add carnauba on top for look :)

I always get the Optimum names mixed up. It's the Opti-Seal that I'm wondering about. The clear lsp that you wipe on.

I really like the protection of the OS but it doesn't do much for gloss or shine.

I really like the look of S100 (deep, wet and glossy) but it doesn't last for long.

I was really hoping to combine the two and get the best of both worlds. I don't have enough time to use S100 every few weeks to keep up the look.

Thanks guys!

Dunno, OOS has a very pronounced glassy look for me...

The routine is OOS/S100. If you still want OOS on the top, it'll migrate through the carnauba. Maybe you won't notice it, and it usually doesn't cause compatibility issues.

I have see a few people post that it will go through the other LSP, but does anyone have any proof of this or comments from Dr. G?

+1

It does give a nice glassy look which I like but the S100, to me, gives it a deeper gloss.

It's on a red candy color which also would look good with 4star UPP. UPP is nice but I've found that I need to layer it for it to last longer. Plus I'd have to order more.

I'm just trying to make the most out of the products I have on hand. :D

I don't know, and I don't know how the necessary micro-level assessment/evaluation are performed. Being a paint expert like Dr. G is a major plus.

I haven't had any bonding issues with OOS, no matter where it was put...

Yeah, I would have less doubt if I heard from the horse's mouth. I would likely believe it worked well with other OPT stuff, but I can't imagine it making anything but a mess if put on top of something oily like PS.
